We never got to experience this winery due to the rude men at the gate. My husband and I wanted to go to Blue Barn after seeing an article about interesting things to do in our state. After searching their website, and surrounding area, I planned a entire day of visiting wineries in the area.
With our chairs in our arms, and friends following, we approached the gate and were told $20/person. I made the comment "Oh, I didn't realize there was a cover charge?". That's when the men got very snarky with us. We were told "well you don't expect them to perform for free do you?", "they're a 9 person band that travels the country, they've played in California." They said other things that honestly I tuned out because I was trying to see what my friends wanted to do. I then responded "they should list on their website that there was a $20 charge" and they began to argue with me saying that it was on their site. I've since gone back to the website several times and still don't see a charge?
To be clear, the $20/person was not the issue. The issue was how combative the men were at the gate. I understand how cover charges work as I have several friends in bands and have paid many many cover charges to see live acts but I won't pay a business to treat myself and my friends with utter disrespect before I've even entered their business.
Fortunately, we had a great experience at the other 4 wineries we visited that day so it was not a complete loss. This area of state...

Wine slushes are a bit too flavored for my taste. Tasted like way too much artificial flavor was in them. The band that was playing (Never Too Late) was good. Really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Outdoor venue, plenty of tables and chairs provided by the winery, lots of shade and a huge outdoor tent. Take bag chairs if you'll be late getting there. Lots of people, but spread out enough to feel comfortable in this age of COVID-19. I'd go back, although probably only for another good band or if I'm in the area since it was an hour...
Read moreWe had a great time. We were there with several other friends. Out Of Eden played, (an Eagles tribute band) and I must say thier pretty good! They have different bands play Saturday nights throughout the summer months. Nice venue and a great selection of wines they offer there. We were there twice this yr. and will be going back once they start back up next yr. You can buy wine and beers to drink there or a bottle of two of wine to take home with you. And you can bring in your own food fir the evening. It's a real nice place to hang out for an evening. We love it! You should try it out if your not...
