I visited Jaycee Park in Fort Pierce, FL (S. Ocean Drive & Melaleuca Dr), and here’s my review:

⸻

🌳 Atmosphere & Layout

Hummel Park offers open green lawn vibes—it’s peaceful and family-friendly. The park is well maintained and ideal for casual outings.

⸻

🏞️ Amenities

Splash Pad & Playground – A bright, clean splash pad complements a colorful playground—perfect for younger kids to run around and cool off. Pavilions & Shelters – Five large pavilions and six smaller ones with grills and electricity make it ideal for gatherings or BBQ parties . Sports Courts – The park includes basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts for light recreation, great for both families and teens . Restrooms – Conveniently located and kept in good condition. Parking – Plenty of on-site parking with easy access to all areas.

⸻

👍 Highlights • Great for gatherings: Multiple covered shelters with grills and electricity make hosting a breeze. • Kid-approved: Splash pad + playground combo keeps little ones entertained for hours. • Variety of activities: Sports courts, waterfront views, and open lawns create a well-rounded park experience.

👎 Considerations • No shade by playground: Shade is limited around play equipment; bring sunscreen or hats. • Not a huge park: More of a mid-sized local gem—won’t satisfy those looking for extensive hiking trails or dense natural scenery.

⸻

📝 Final Verdict

Hummel Park is a solid choice for families and small groups: easy parking, clean facilities, kid-friendly zones, and shelter options. If you’re after a pleasant, easygoing spot to hang out, picnic, or let kids burn energy, this park checks...

The best part of living in Plainfield when you have a family is the parks here! They each have a connecting trail and makes for a great bike ride and skateboard or even roller blades although my daughter had bad experience on path when the wheelies were popular… anyway…Hummel park! The newest addition here is the splash pad and although a few more tables or benches in this area would be great it’s still a wonderful edition! The park is great and fun for kids esp below age of 12! You can rent gazebos, picnic areas, and we done this for my daughters baby shower few years back and it was great experience since the gazebos have a barbque pit close by! There’s basketball, tennis courts, a bridge with a pond like stream it rises over which has paths to get down to the edges of the water! There’s little woods and a smaller park on other side and few might know of the fishing pond that butts against the houses as well! I’ve never seen anything playing at the stage like area on other side of bridge but I’m sure I missed it as it has that too! Family bathrooms, nice and clean ones that are watched by the park I might add!… plenty of grassy areas for running and playing ball, as well as a concrete path tgat winds around the park makes it one of our kids all time favorites, and now our granddaughter too! You will not be...

Hummel Park is a hidden gem that seamlessly blends nature, disc golfing, and soccer, creating an unforgettable recreational experience. As an avid fan of both sports, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a day outdoors.

The park’s lush greenery and well-maintained soccer fields provide the perfect setting for a friendly game with friends or family. The open spaces allow for plenty of room to run, kick, and score, making it an ideal spot for soccer enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

For those seeking a more leisurely activity, the disc golf course at Hummel Park is an absolute delight. Nestled among the trees, the course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for disc golfers. Each hole is thoughtfully designed, incorporating natural obstacles and elevation changes to keep players engaged and entertained.

In conclusion, Hummel Park with its disc golf course and soccer fields is a true haven for sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. It’s a place where you can unwind, have fun, and enjoy the simple pleasures that outdoor recreation offers. I highly recommend a visit to Hummel Park for an invigorating and memorable day of sports and leisure in the midst of...
