Maggie's trail is within the Plainsboro Preserve in Cranbury, NJ. You can follow the Blue Trail to get to it. In Summer and Fall there are a lot of mosquitoes so please be suitable equipped. DEET based insect repellents barely work here. As you do down Maggie's Trail you are treated to some fantastic views of the McCormack lake. While swimming etc., is strictly prohibited in the lake Maggie's Trail takes you almost to the center of the lake without even swimming! Incidentally Maggie's Trail is named after the late Margaret Schaefer, a Plainsboro advocate for the preservation of Plainsboro's natural resources. Read moreI would say this is my favorite trail I've hiked so far in New Jersey. The most beautiful lakeside hide with tons of wildlife and foliage. Super zen and peaceful and I felt very at ease once I hit Maggie's Point and the end of the trail. There is a stone bench to sit on with a 360 lake view.
