This conservation park was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to come back! I completed the Singing Bluffs Trail and all of its scenic lookouts. The very first lookout is close to the road and has a picnic table; the ones after are only benches. The majority of the trail was easy but did get a little narrower and/or more up and downs towards the end of the trail. There is plenty of shade and the majority of the trail is up high - don't worry about gators! I was there around 9:00AM-10:00AM and there was so much bird song!

I saw 6 large gators (please be very wary approaching the water as I did not see 2 of them until they splashed loudly into the lake), LOTS of Black & Turkey vultures, plenty of Brown Anoles, many Gallinules that kept scaring me (lol), Anhingas galore and even a Carolina Wren! This is truly a photographer's and birder's heaven. You will hear planes quite often, but it didn't bother me too much as there was so much bird song and the views were so gorgeous.

Before I left the park for the day, I drove around and briefly popped into the Observation Tower and a little bit of the rooted trees (which is such an amazing thing to see) towards the back of the park. There's a boat ramp, volleyball pit and plenty of picnic tables and shelters. I paid a $2.00 car fee. This trail was also part of the Hillsborough Hiking Spree #TakeAHikeHC 10/10 will...

We have been to this park multiple times now. I have two very young kids and this place is the “wild” of Florida in a fun and organized way. Huge playground area and make sure to head towards the hill up the backside of the lot, near the tucked away (from the main road) parking. There’s a massive tree root system that kids can climb back there and it’s shaded which is nice for summer because the main playground is NOT covered in any way. There’s bathrooms at the playground as well (yay!) and when we go they’re always super super clean. Baby changing table in there too. If you continue along the main road of the park and drive to the boat launch, there’s a corner of the parking lot that leads to an observation deck. The first and only time I’ve seen alligators in the wild!! Do NOT let children wander in that area. Boardwalk is elevated wayyyy above the water which I appreciate for safe viewing. There is also a camp ground at this park but we have never camped there. Truth be told, I’d be a little scared to knowing how wild Florida is, haha. The park itself is extremely well maintained, there is a $2...

I'm trying to think of where to start with this review. There was just so much. So I'll just start by saying, this is a wonderful park to bring the kiddos out to have parties. It was very clean, including the restrooms and there were several pavilions with barbecue pits.

Everywhere you go has access to the lake with stunning views. Plus they offer canoe rentals if you want to venture out into the water. If you have your own boat, they have boat ramps for you to bring your own vessels out on the water. There's also several great spots for fishing. Of course be careful of the wildlife, snakes and gators.

My favorite thing about this park is the hiking trails! There's an area with these massive trees on hills. It's so cool! It's really fun for the kids to climb through the maze of roots and look out into the water. I personally think it's the best spot in the entire park.

Lastly, there's a lookout point that's about 4 or 5 stories y'all, that you can walk up to get an aerial view of the lake. Very pretty! This park is definitely one I would recommend. Oh and it's only...

We visited the Edward Medard Park yesterday for the first time and we really enjoyed it. It costs us $2 per car and the ranger gave us a map and a quick description of the location of the trails. We were able to hike 3 trails as we arrived in late afternoon. The trails are well marked and fairly rustic. There are hills and valleys, roots to walk over, tree limbs to walk under and there are a few scenic outlook areas overlooking the lake where there are park benches to rest upon. We did see at least one sign alerting hikers to the fact that alligators and snakes could be present. The only animals we saw were squirrels and vultures. We ended up walking more than 2.5 miles. There are a few other trails that we did not have time to experience. There are picnic tables and campsites in the park and they offer canoe and kayak rentals and there is a boat ramp to launch your own boat. They also have a playground in one section of the park.
