If I was rating this based on the trails alone I would give it more like 2 stars. Obviously they are a bit of an afterthought. I am sure the main uses are the athletic fields.
Not much information is published about the trails, but I found if walking the trail as published on Google maps from starting on the paved trail and jumping off at the overflow at the pond I did 2.6 miles (in 50 minutes) walking it all, it ignoring shortcuts and returning to the paved trail. The trail is essentially a mowed path in the grass meandering across rolling hills. What would otherwise be a pasture essentially. Its pretty well all exposed with no shade and sparsly scattered trees. So if you're expecting a hike through the timber go to nearby Weston Bend state park. I enjoyed their...

The pond is what attracted me, bass, crappie, sunfish and catfish. Rarely fast action, but a few good fish. Rarely busy during the week, a few walkers, especially with dogs, and an angler. Well maintained.
