Backwoods Venue 222 — Attraction in Plattsburg

I can not say enough about how amazing this venue is!! I got married here on October 26, 2019. The owner, Aimee, is such an amazing person and is always willing to go above and beyond for your special day. We originally met Aimee at her bridal fair that she had last fall. My mom and I made another appointment with her so that my husband could go up and see the place. We knew right away that this was the place we wanted. We spent a little more than we originally wanted, but it was SO worth it! Aimee has so many decorations that we were able to use. We hardly had to buy any of our own. The night before the wedding, my bridesmaids and I stayed the night and it was so awesome! We were able to keep working on decorating the place and there was a very comfy bridal suite with a bed and it’s own bathroom that we stayed in. One of my girls slept on the couch and the other two slept on an air mattress. There was another room we could have used, but we wanted to all sleep in the same room. The morning of the wedding, Aimee was there first thing while we were getting ready making sure we had everything we needed. She left until about 4:00 but made sure that we knew we could call her if we needed anything. When she came back at 4:00, she was ready to help us get organized for the ceremony that started at 4:30. During the reception, she was walking around getting trash off the tables and was always checking back in with my husband and I making sure we had enough food and drinks and making sure we were happy with everything. Our reception ended about 10:15 and she stuck around to help with the trash and help pack things up! Every one of my guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and said they really enjoyed being there. The unique two story experience was so cool for everyone. After scouring the local wedding Facebook group, I came across Backwoods Venue 222. I looked at three venues but I had "musts" and Aimee's place checked all the boxes! We were able to have the property from Friday at 10am to Sunday at 10am. There are two getting ready rooms, a beautiful open floor plan, gorgeous landscape, and not to mention the most wonderful host! We hired Aimee as our day of coordinator which made everything run smoothly the day of. She helped me and my mom keep our cool while she kept the guys in line! I was very thankful to have the time to decorate well in advance, stay the night in the suite with my best friend the night before and with my HUSBAND the night of. My biggest tip to anyone would be to stay where you party. We walked around after everyone left and took it all in. It was the most wonderful experience. When we met Aimee Andrew’s, the owner of Backwoods 222, we knew we had found something special. She was vibrant and cheerful. She was so excited to host our wedding and we fed off her energy. We loved the history of the venue and Aimee’s elation with telling the story behind it too. Backwoods was the first venue we looked at and we didn’t need to see any other venue after that. We knew it was the place to celebrate our marriage.

Aside from Aimee being an amazing person to work with, she also has plenty of decorations on hand which can save you a ton in decor costs for your wedding. She’s also great with communication and setting up times to meet at the venue to try out decor ideas and troubleshoot where things will go.
