Toad Valley Golf Course — Attraction in Pleasant Hill

Oh boy, where to begin. Had a wedding a week ago here. Beautiful area, wide open spaces. Venue was an affordable option and had other options included that other venues do not. The lady, Carly, she was very helpful along with most of the other staff. With here, you definitely get what you pay for. The wedding coordinator, Allison, is God awful at her job. I've never been a coordinator for anything but you'd think the number one thing that would help you excel at your job is planning and organization and keeping track of everything. We had to repeatedly over a period of months give her an entire rundown of what we wanted for the wedding and we did not get an estimate until a month before our wedding. She was incredibly difficult to get ahold of, hardly responded to emails, texts, and calls. My wife was very stressed out due to her lack of preparedness and communication. About a month before our wedding, she informed us that she had double booked our wedding. Major screw up. She blamed her assistant and apparently had fired her for her mistake. Seriously doubt it but who knows. She claimed that we would not see the other wedding party, we would not hear from them, nothing. They'd be on the other side of the golf course. Nope. The other wedding party was all over the place, and there was a lot of confused people. Allison made a lot of promises she could not keep. Of course, Allison gave us a measly discount of $300 off but that definitely was not worth all the hassle and trouble we had dealt with. We wanted to change venues but of course, she dropped this on us a month prior to our wedding date so we didn't have time to back out and change our date and invitations and all of that. The wedding went well for the most part but the stress of everything and the dirty looks we received from the other wedding party was just disgusting, like we were the ones crashing their wedding day. Definitely would not recommend it to anyone else. I would give a 0 if I could. DO NOT BOOK...

The course is nice to golf.

The service on the other hand is terrible!!! From other comments posted, it looks like there needs to be improvements. I had a group of 10 golf there this past Saturday. I booked the tee times a month in advance. When I called they informed me that I could get a group rate of $30 for 18 holes including cart. This was informed to me by the front desk person I called and then confirmed to me via voicemail from the manager(which I made a mistake deleting it after I listened to it). When I arrived to start golfing at 1 pm, the front desk guy (middle aged, short dark hair, on the tall and slender side of things - I was too mad to even look at his nametag and get his name) told me that it would $40, which is the regular rate for the weekend at 1pm. When I tried to inform that we had a group rate and I already called it in, he rudely responded to me by saying the rate was $30 plus the purchase of cart rental. Then this employee tried to become friendly with me and told us that it would be best to golf two groups of 5 players.Our group already had our best ball teams set up and we did not need this "unwanted advice" from this rude employee. I was irate by how this employee at this golf course totally SCREWED my group. I had to personally apologize to every single person in the group they were charged ten more dollars than what they were expecting.

I will never golf at this golf...

Course is absolutely gorgeous. Looks like they put a great deal of work into maintaining the grounds. And I t’s a fun course to play.

Mini golf is in solid shape. Lots of fun for the kids.

Two stars because of the clubhouse being ridiculously slow. On a Friday with 1 1/2 people working (half because she wasn’t doing much besides standing around). Waited over half an hour in a line of four people to play some mini golf. When we got up to the counter, the lady picked up the phone and started chatting. Said nothing to us but “I’ll help you here”. After another 10 min we left. Went to Terrace Hills and was playing in 7 min. After a much larger line. Would love to come back if they can staff enough people to get customers out playing. Seems to be getting worse.

Adjusted to 3 stars (because of the course itself) Staff was there. Just not doing anything. If I would have had a T time I would have been more upset. Glad it was just a family mini golf outing.
