An amazing place in the scenic woods.
The trail between the parking area and the falls is peppered with tree roots and is on a bit of an incline. Those who have difficulty with walking uphill or balance may find this trail a bit of a challenge.
The falls are photoesque and not far from the parking area. However, the landscape near the water is steep, and inconsiderable visitors have left litter strewn about the area. The water is not swimworthy, as the area isvtoo rocky and the water is probably not safe.

Read moreWe stopped at Houston Brook Falls with our dog after visiting Moxie Falls. It's not quite as impressive, but also a lot less crowded. Parking is along Pleasant Ridge Road at the Transfer Station, be sure not to block the gate. A short easy trail leads through the woods down to the waterfall. The water level was low when we visited, but we could easily hop around on the rocks at the base. There are also some nice swimholes in the creek above the falls. The 2-year-old did want to be held sometimes which made it difficult for me the 45-year-old lol! We attempted to bring a stroller at first but that did not work out as there are a couple downed trees. be careful on the simple bridges because there are a few really bouncy boards that feel like they could give way.
