My Daughter and I like to go for walks/ hikes to new places, someone told me about this place I never knew existed. There is a nice parking area to start. There are many trails to chose from,in varying distances. There is a map in the parking area, but next time Im gonna bring a printed copy, because its kinda easy to miss what trail you are actually on. We tried to go thru most of them, I think we did ok. My favorite was the trail that gives you the elevated view along the Sandusky river. There are are some bridges over ravines and stairs going up and down hills,it was a bit of a workout! At one point it seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere and trail seemed to never end. I had check my location on my phone to make sure we were ok lol. Its a very nice place and we will be back. I bet its great...

So many options for routes and different scenery all over! From wild flower fields to ravines to marshy - this was a fun trail! At some points you forgot that you're in Northwest Ohio because of the elevation changes. Don't let make it sound like this is mountainous, but most trails in the area are very flat, so this is a wonderful change of pace. There was a bench at the top of nearly every major elevation change which was very nice to let you catch your breath as well as enjoy the views. One of the trails enters into a hunting zone that is extremely well labeled - absolutely no way you would not see any of the signage for the affected trails and areas. There are multiple port-a-pots on the trail which were convenient. There is a canoe/kayak launch that looks to be very...

Steyer is the best place to hike in this area that isn't flat. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife if it isn't busy. Held one star because some of the trails have been revamped into easier, flatter, wider trails, which makes it boring. Some of the trails are starting to show lack of maintenance, which leads to people taking their own detours and changing the paths. The blazes on the trees do not correspond to the color coding on the park map (orange and red are mixed up for a...

Nicely groomed trails, with varying surfaces. There are some steep climbs/stairs, so be prepared. The trails are short, so you won't spend a lot of time here. It is a good place to picnic, with picnic tables and a portapotty. There were no trash cans (which is odd to me). We visited on the weekend and it was pretty busy, with lots of dogs. Because of the small size of the location you see and hear lots of people. Parking is easy and the lot is paved.

Sorry guys, but we do not like the new river access. We found the steps difficult to carry our kayaks down and back up. Also, getting in the river with a decent size drop off. Water was low though. Also, those large stones are good for twisting an ankle. The ramp was much easier. Looks nice but not for easy in and out for us anyway. Bummed.
