This is a beautiful open space with amazing views. The trailhead is located inside a gated community (Golden Eagle Estates), but all Pleasanton residents and anyone who works in town are granted entry. If you don't live or work in Pleasanton the guard at the gate will let you in the first time and give you the information about how to get a permit. There are lots of trails on the ridge suitable for hiking, biking, and dog walking and there is no fee for admission or parking. A few mountain biking and hiking groups meet up to ride on a regular basis, and there are connecting trails to other trail systems. The park entrance gate opens at 7am during the summer and closes at 6:30pm, and during the winter it's 7am to 5:30pm, but the exit gate is open 24/7. A lot of people enjoy night rides and just so long as you arrive before the entrance closes you can stay late. It's a wonderful place for a leisurely stroll or a hardcore cycling workout, and the view can't be beat. I'd give it six stars if I could.

This is a great hiking / mountain biking place because of several reasons: - not too steep up, not flat either - so, doable for most people - most of the trail is not fully exposed to sun - so, we can hike during sunny times as well - great views of the tri-valley and mountain ranges - has a restroom with regular water closet - has picnic tables - has beautiful meadows on the top of the hill - a great place to sit and relax, especially during early spring when the grass is green - bike-friendly Other points: - the access is through a gated community - visitors need to show their ID to gain access - the parking lot is not very big and it may fill up during peak hours

Enjoyed hiking here. Well maintained gentle uphill trails, easy hike and great view of Pleasanton, Dublin area. This train connects to EBRPD trail. You do need to prove that you are a Pleasanton residence to get in through the gate. We have a friend lives in Pleasanton and that got us all in.

Very scenic hiking biking trail in Pleasanton. 6.3 miles from East Dublin Bart. Picturesque natural beauty. Wild plants n birds. I saw 2 small deers. Good view from the top with fresh wind. Maps of trails present with markings available. Caution about Rattlesnakes. Don't touch them. Restrooms available at the foot hill where u park n begin the hike. Benches available for quick bite or family picnic. A board shows reserved place for horsecarts to be. Parked n water for horses available. Timings as per the gate person who let us in at 7.00 am in morning and dusk in evening. Don't forget to bring hats, gogles, lots of water in the summer for the hike and walking canes if u need it. Can bring ur pet dog here and also do mountain biking.. if u see carefully u may also...
