I had the pleasure of having my wedding at the beautiful Callippe Preserve Golf Course. My husband and I worked with Morgan Chandler, their head of events, over the past year and I cannot rave more about the experience. When it comes to planning weddings, Callippe is a well oiled machine and will make the entire experience completely stress free!! Every question or concerned of mine was address immediately along the planning process and all of my requests were easily fulfilled.
Callippe provides so much of what you need for a wedding-- the food, alcohol, tables, chairs, linens, arbor, floral, coordinator, BEAUTIFUL scenery, set up, etc. (All info is easily found on their website which makes it so easy! Including pricing)
The food is not what you would expect from a golf course wedding. The food was INSANELY good. So many of my guests are still texting me saying it was the best wedding food they ever had!! For dinner We did the prime rib, chicken piccata, pesto pasta, garlic mash potatoes, green beans for dinner. DROOLING thinking back to it.
The pricing of the whole Callippe experience is a STEAL. I couldn't believe what we got for what we paid for. I truly don't think there's a better venue out there.
I could go on and on. I will always be incredibly thankful that I found this venue and will hold it close to my heart forever.
Thank you to Morgan and Charissa for making our wedding day the best day of...
Read moreThe Golf course management needs to fix the huge drain and gopher hole in the smack center of the fairway on Hole#1. Why? In mid June 2005, I played a match-play in my Club with a competitor in my club. After being tied after 18-holes, we started the play-off back on hole#1 (after taking permission from the pro shop). I hit my drive in the Center of the Fairway on hole#1. But I could not find my ball within 3 minutes (USGA rule 18.2 which my 'mean' competitor gladly took advantage of). There is this curvy toilet-bowl like drain & an adjacent 2+ feet deep gopher-hole right in the fairway center where I suspected it. But I thought to myself what are the odds, and also did not want to insert my hand into it since it was deep, dark and very narrow. After quickly looking all around, I told my competitor that looks like its in that gopher-hole and asked him to co-operate as he had also acknowledged/ saw my good Drive shot. But rather than that he took advantage of the situation and told me that he won since my 3 minutes were up. I was really pissed as it was the Play-off hole not a regular hole. So I went ahead and put my hand into that dark gopher-hole and indeed found my ball at the bottom. Attaching the pic. Other than my opinion that USGA needs to make Exceptions to Rule 18.2 of 3-minutes, Callippe's management needs to fix that damn gopher hole even if they can not get rid of the curvy drain. It punishes...
Read moreWhat an amazing course! The quality and layout are amazing. Once again, I had another almost six-hour round! This course needs to do something about the pace of play. I will no longer play this course on a weekend - Never again. It absolutely destroys the day; you get so frustrated just sitting for 10-15 minutes at a time and just waiting.
When I asked the attendant in the shop, I was told, "At this price, this course attracts a level of player who may not have the required skill level required to play our course, so there is nothing we can do." There are tools the Marshal can implement. Tell the slow group to skip a hole, give them a two-putt max, tell them to play off the appropriate tees; do anything. Stop sending groups out with zero spacing. I paid $100 for this round; this is not a budget course. When you pay this much, you expect adequate spacing between tee times and a reasonable pace of play (think of Bridges/Wente/Poppy).
Pacing aside, this course is absolutely stunning - I just have to make sure I play on a Tuesday morning or...
