We love Camp Plymouth. It’s a beautiful park with large grassy areas and a great picnic area by the lake. It’s a like bit of a walk from the parking lot to the lake. We’ve been coming here for 30 years and this year the complimentary carts have become a REAL ISSUE. The sign on the cart and where you pick them says to RETURN THE CART SO OTHERS CAN USE THEM. But this year people aren’t doing it and the park isn’t doing anything to enforce it. In past years the park personnel would come down and ask people to return them. I come to the park 1-2 time a week and have never seen them try. My husband & I are in our 70’s and it’s important for us to have a cart to bring our stuff to down by the lake. We always return our cart as soon as we unload it. If we can make the trip back and forth so can others.

This is the best park. I got there often, whether backpacking on the Monadnock-Sunapee greenway, camping or just stopping in to kayak on the ponds, this park is a gem. I recommend camping here because it is quiet nice sites and you have plenty of good hiking trails to choose from plus, you can canoe or kayak Butterfield and May Ponds. We usually do hike 1 day and kayak the next. I have parked here to backpack on the M-S Greenway. It is safe and secure to leave your vehicle here.

Wonderfully clean state park. There's a sandy beach area, a lake for swimming or boating, barbecue areas, a volleyball court and a playground. The perfect place to spend the day if you're in the area, or rent a cabin and stay longer. There is an entrance fee to get in. A snack bar on the premises. Boat rentals are available. Bathrooms and changing rooms are onsite as well.

My favorite outdoor swim nearby. Clean lake, (can smell motorboat exhaust when they go by;) nice beach for kids plus 10-20 ft deep water to swim within buoys; 60-80 feet further out. Affordable at $4 admission per person, including parking. Nice staff. Restrooms, snack bar, sometimes a food truck. Picnic tables. Rentals of paddle boats, kayaks, and SUPs come with lifejacket. And this summer, a bald eagle has been frequenting the area.

My only complaints: kids skipping rocks in the swim area -- I've come CV lose to getting beaned,; and people who bring their own paddle boards tend to cut through the swim area instead of using dock or other end of beach. I swim underwater and have been hit in the head by a hapless little kid on a board. Also, I notice these folks often do not have a life jacket with them at all. I've seen adults with kids - some kids are geared up, but most adults aren't. It is state law, and not only could you get ticketed, you could drown, even if you're Olympic material. It's common sense, good manners and the responsible thing to do. Why put potential first responders at risk? You could be a recovery instead of...

Tradition! Camp Plymouth/ Echo Lake has been the field trip location of choice for our middle school to celebrate the completion of another year "together" with students and staff. We haven't found any place better suited for this event. We do hire our own lifeguards and organize a bbq lunch. All enjoy the water- swimming or lounging on the beach watching the fun. There is a volleyball court, some grassy "sports spaces," and a snack shack and great accessible changing rooms. We encourage fishing, sports and friend-time. Some years we even bring our school yearbooks for signing. Lately we have encouraged student's electronics and music just for the comfort of the bus trip. It is just under 1 hour of travel time allowing for a full school day at the park.

One more bonus- as a State Park, it is clean and has friendly,...
