From the road bridge or up close this a pretty nice place to visit. To get these falls in spectacular display is a trick - you'll need to wait until after (at least) near flooding conditions - and achieved that on 10 May 2025. My 2nd visit was after a very rainy day, and only 3 streams were spilling over the structure edge.
Going right up to the falls is not complicated, but under wet conditions it is definitely between risky and dangerous. So parents should keep good tabs on their children.
Generally I advize lots of caution for anyone getting close to these falls. There is a small but strong stream that needs to be crossed to reach the rocky embankment, and its surrounding ground is not the most solid. Good boots will help these challenges.
As far as pictures are concerned, you'll battle to get great ones from the road bridge with minimum effort. On my 3rd visit the bridge was just fine for it's full grandeur - this may only happen a few...
Read moreCame up here on a 2.5 hour drive from NYC to take a photo but when we arrived to see it, it was sort of disappointing to see it was much smaller than the main photo makes it look. I thought it was much bigger. It had partial flow I guess you have to come here when there has been much rain in the area mountains to get a the entire width with flowing water. FYI, the Waterfall is adjacent to the bridge so you may think you will see as you pass through but not so, you'll need to park your car at the bottom of the hill at a small parking area on Canal St before the intersection of Rt 72 and walk a few short steps to the bridge to view...
Read moreBeautiful falls right across the road, felt like mini niagara falls. But no big activity or something to do near that , just a look up spot. You can overlook the falls from the bridge or can go near the falls from the right side of the bridge And one more hidden spot is the the railway track, if you go up the hill and take left and follow the railway tracks. Railway track is a good location for photos and if u follow the track for about 5 minutes u come to an intersection, from there if you turn a right u would see an abandoned tunnel which is 100 years old tunnel built in 1910 i guess. Thats one spooky place to click some...
