One finds the lighthouse as a point of interest online. One finds a way to visit the lighthouse in a manner fitting to their situation and expectations and for their own reasons. One gets in the car and takes that breathtaking trip along the coast. One could never truly be ready for how those expectations flourish and blossom into more than their imagination could ever allow. The environment awakens your senses in a way you could not really anticipate. The salt and sea in the air, the wind blowing through your hair, a symphony of waves crashing and breaking over the rocks below as they have done for thousands of years. Yes there is something magical about this place. I'm not world traveled. However I haven been both north and south of our borders and many many places in between. Coast to coast. I have never seen or experienced anything quite like this. There are words like breathtaking, stunning, speechless. They simply do not hold the gravity to describe this experience. My wife and I ventured to The Point Arena Lighthouse to spend the week of our 25th wedding anniversary. Not only were we left with our jaws on the floor with the setting alone. But the staff of the lighthouse were most gracious. The facilities were flawless. We really felt at home and like family when we announced we had reservations to stay in the lighthouse keepers room. I don't leave reviews for the sake of hearing my own voice. I am the type of guy who only leaves reviews when I've been handled less than favorable or blown out of the water with an experience. I can assure you our experience here was the latter. We have been home for over a week and we still have not stopped talking about it. We can not return soon enough. We booked this trip as a one off and never expected to return to northern California after this experience. However the staff, the area, and of course the lighthouse have created a bond with us. That short amount of time we spent there touched us and our marriage in a way I simply can not describe. I can say this with all certainty however. We will not only be back but we will be back as lifetime members of the lighthouse, and hope to enjoy this true one of a kind experience again and again as long as time permits. To the lighthouse staff, thank you all for such a memorable experience that my wife and I will never forget. A true highlight over a magical 25 year union that accentuates everything we love about each other. You and your property will forever be a part of that now. From our hearts. Thank you. You're stuck with us now. We hope to see you again...

Okay, maybe we could do with a little less wind, but can't really control that. ||This was our third time staying in the Head Keeper's House, but the first time since it was renovated a few years ago. They really put some money into the renovation and spared no expense; it's beautiful. ||The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need from a crockpot, strainer, multiple pots and pans, electric can opener, toaster, regular drip coffee maker, wide variety of teas to select from and every utensil you could need. The welcome bottle of wine, Cabernet Sauvignon from Husch, is always exquisite. ||||The new queen beds in both bedrooms are very comfortable and quality mattresses. They are on the firmer side and no lumps or sagging in the middle. The four pillows on each bed are plush and comfortable with two being soft and two a little firmer. The closets in each room are plenty spacious enough to store suitcases and hang clothes. ||||The bathroom is large (a pleasant upgrade from our last stay in this unit) with a walk in shower, heater, fan, small sliding window, plenty of quality towels and ample storage space. Be sure to bring your own toiletries, like shampoo and bodywash, as they are not included. ||||The wifi is faster than the last time we were here (2018) with upload and download speeds of around 50 each (confirmed with speedtest app). Streaming with our own Apple TV was no issue, nor was getting work done and uploading decent sized files. ||||There's a stunningly beautiful hike along the coast just down the road. It is a cow pasture, but don't let that scare you away. The views are incredible and the hike is very easy.||||All of the staff have been excellent and accommodating, as always, but we sadly didn't get to see Arena Mina this trip. ||||If you're looking for a gorgeous, secluded getaway to relax or even work remotely, you can't go wrong with Point Arena Lighthouse Lodge.
