LOVED IT! Super cute experience. If you love movies, it is a great stop. "Need For Speed" is the movies that brought us here. The shop next to the lighthouse has a lot of cute things to buy. The parking lot is super big. Their restrooms were clean. It is windy and it was chilly the day we visited. Wear closed toe shoes when you visit so that you may not get grable/pebbles in your feet. We always make time to visit when we are here: windswept cypress, aging fences, crashing surf, very...

We stayed at the nearby Lighthouse Pointe Resort through our RCI timeshare, and had these amazing public lands at our doorstep. We hiked the whole area from the lighthouse property and along the Garcia River, down to about a mile south of the Mendocino College Research Station. This area is beautiful beyond mere description, and the fact that the public can so freely access its miles of free hiking is such a great thing to take advantage of while it lasts! We saw deer, sea lions, hawks and turkey vultures, and the occasional osprey hovering looking for prey. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you love...
