Visited for the first time and was impressed overall! It is a State Park - clean, well maintained. Plenty of recreation including fishing and kayaking. No drones allowed though! Bathhouses were very clean! Only complaint is that the sites are only big enough for a camper and 1 vehicle. Any extra and you have to pay for them. Would recommend and stay again.

Had a great time here catching catfish- also I was around 13 yo when my friend and I got on our skateboards, we were heavily loaded down with cast nets, fishing poles all the gear we needed to slay it. While we were riding down the steep road leading into the lake area/boating docks it was so steep I remember seeing my friend 20yrds in front gaining some serious speed, still both hands full of fishing poles. I see him start experiencing speed wobbles lmao and he lost control, wiped out bad lol immediately after he ate it my skate board did the same thing! I reached the same speed and wobbled out of control. Busted my forehead and had a full road rash sleeve on my right arm. People on golf carts pulled up to ask if we were alright and my friends mom called mine to apologize for my...

The lake is beautiful there are designated swimming areas... Swim with caution on the beach side there rocks at the bottom, tree stumps, and algae on the bottom its best to wear swim shoes! On the other side across the parking lot from that there is stairs to climb in out out the water it was like 6 or 7 feet there. I was able to swim a bit down and touch the bottom im 5'9. The water is harsh on your skin and hair. Other than snakes and alligators it was a great time! We stayed at the state park and we had a blast just felt this was...

The lake is beautiful but not so great for pontooning or tubing. I saw many boats with tubing riders but i would not encourage anyone to do this. The trees that are still standing tall just below much of the lake's surface can damage a boat and impale a tuber. I observed many boats going at a high speed fearlessly and was in awe of their boldness. There did seem to be an area that was clear besides the river path. One would think that after 50 years the trees would have fallen but they are still standing. Be very careful if you go out...
