It's a very wild place, where you can enjoy walking through a forest. I think this is my first time walking in the middle of a forest! It's a majestic experience being in the middle of that many trees! All you can hear in the background is the song of the birds; after that everything is solid silent (spooky at times.) The trails need some maintenance, as some where covered with high grass which was difficult to see underneath for any spiders or snakes. Maybe I am being a little extra, but it needs some maintenance so the hike can be more enjoyable.

This trail isnt easy but its quiet and you wont get lost as long as you're paying attention to the signs. I've hiked it three times this week and I'm going again tomorrow. I have seen evidence of hogs and maybe a mountain lion but the prints were small(for a mountain lion). Its not a swamp, but then again, you are in bayou territory.

Camping during spring break with my daughter was a blast. Weather was perfect. Primitive camping by the lake is relaxing and fun for the both of us. For primitive camping it did start to become crowded but it was spring break . Still lots of fun.

Was a great time me and my buddy went out there spent two days hiking and doing some primitive fishing with some spears we made. Didn't get any fish but their active out there you can see them in the shallow spots. We stayed off one of the trails had a nice spot for a tent and a hammock. Slept good through the night but we did hear movement. So do be prepared for activities through out the night. Be properly prepared for wildlife. There are ponds and streams all around so make sure to have a water filtration system if you plan on long stays. I highly recommend going out there and it is worth going back to...
