This place is pretty neat. Found it by accident but it's free but does run on donations so please do donate. It's not really a museum but more of an outdoor historical village. Neat little buildings that are either replicas or originals that have been moved. Has a HUGE collection of taxidermy animals which is a bit...icky but there are many most would never get to see otherwise or up close. In my opinion it's better suited for ages 10+ just because children smaller may not hold a lot of interest in much except the taxidermy. Overall it's a neat little gem that I recommend if you like history and want something to do on...

My first time walking thru the buildings and looking at all of the doctor's implements of era's gone by and all of the other objects in the other buildings and I brought my granddaughter with me and showed and explained what the objects were and what they were used for and my mother-in-law who was born in Virginia in the 30's moved to Point Pleasant 50 yrs ago, had even more interesting information she shared with us. Greatly enjoyed our visit. Looking forward to Christmas lights this year at the...

It was an interesting museum to walk around and see. It was quaint and while we were there, the person who came out to greet us and let us know everything going on was nice and informative. If you're looking for a quiet and historical walk, this place is great. You get to see some pretty interesting things. If you go, please consider donating to the museum. They've put cash boxes out in a few areas, so please be kind and donate to...

This is surprisingly a free museum that takes donations. It’s larger than you might expect with a whole hodgepodge of exhibits. You literally don’t know what you’re going to see from one building to the next. I wasn’t crazy about the taxidermy rooms, but to each their own on that. This museum will make you think about what life was like in the past in many different ways. It’s a better stop than nearby Fort Randolph.

Really great place for some history. Make sure to visit the bauer building to see some really great local history from his collection. Taxidermy and gun lovers will really appreciate this place and how incredible of a guy Christmas bauer was. Make sure to bring some cash for donations because that's what keeps places like this alive.
