8/10/20 : Range Pond in Range State Park is an authentic gem tucked away in Poland, Maine. Easy to find, about 40 minutes from Portland, 45 minutes from Brunswick, Maine. Loads of good times at this Park! Most of my summer time memories include picnics at the beach. Love the clean quality of this pond, out 30 feet from land, still look down and see the bottom of the pond. Several life guard chairs, usually 1 or 2 lifeguards on duty during peak weekend hours . . . Not to crowded during week days. You'll find a few amenities at Range Park. There's a pavillion for birthday, retirement, or family parties that can be rented. You have access to the water. There's several walking trails around the southeastern side of the pond. There's a bathhouse for changing, and bathrooms. On most weekends & some weekdays there's kyacking rentals. There's also a sporadic number of picnic tables and park grills. I'd recommend bringing several camping/beach chairs and sun screen. Not too buggy. Note: Sometimes you might see/hear the food truck (I'd call it a "roach coach") with generator . . . selling burgers, fries, ice cream, and sodas . . . abit noisy for me! Bring your own healthy sandwiches or fruit and enjoy the day at this scenic beach park!

Wonderful state park with an amazing private party area that includes a resource building at you can also book. The private area also includes beach volleyball and horseshoes. There is a great beach for swimming on the pond. The water stays fairly shallow quite a way out which is perfect for the kids. Wonderful bathroom and changing facility. There is a playground for the youngsters as well. There are trails for hiking or mountain bike riding. Grills and picnic tables are available. Boats, paddle boards, and paddle boats are available for use on a rental basis. Overall a very good, family friendly state park with sandy beach swimming.

Great little state park with multiple hiking trails which are very well marked and maintained! Beautiful pond with an awesome little beach area, end of April visit during the week so the park was pretty empty which was nice. The trails around the pond area have restrooms periodically (outhouse style but clean), there's also water spigots (not on until May I think). Lots of natural water, bring a filter and you'll have plenty of water! Couple playground areas, dogs welcome but not on the beach areas and tons of picnic tables!!

Great for kayaking or paddle boarding. Easy Paddle for beginners that want to see some wildlife. The beach was clean when we got there. However, when we were leaving, there were people blowing up balloons and busting them extremely loudly. It sounded like fireworks. Additionally, loading up my kayak, there were busted balloons all over the ground. I picked up 12 or so pieces of balloon. If an animal ingested that, it could be catastrophic. I highly recommend the park enforcing restrictions.

I was staying with my brother in Lewiston and this park was nearby. That a gem! The lake was clean and beautiful and warm enough for swimming. There is a lovely hiking trail and pine forrests around the lake. The facilities were good enough, including a bathhouse, playgrounds, and plenty of picnic tables. I've got a little one in a wheelchair and there was a little ramp to the water and a chair to use. What an unexpected lovely day!

Great beach, quiet, hiking also through woods & along water, many brought dogs to walk, there is also a small playground for ages 5-11. Tranquil, quiet place to think. There are picnic tables, barbecue grills, and outhouses.
