Salt Springs Observation Trail — Attraction in Pomona Park

Dirt road and parking area, and kiosk of basic info. Narrow trail through the forest, and sometimes you brush against the plants. We had no issues with ticks that have been mentioned by others, but we walked this in December, so some cold nights had occurred prior. A hidden gem. Trail starts off with scrub but takes you into a tropical forest with different kinds of trees as you get closer to the water. Trail takes you to a long boardwalk which ends at the water. Pretty nice experience after being in the sand pine scrub for miles.

Nice trail that leads to a dock. I saw a few otters playing. Water was very clear and peaceful. HOWEVER I have never been covered by ticks like I was when I took this hike. Both feet and legs were absolutely covered. They were in my shoes and socks as well. I am certain there were over 100 ticks on me by the time I realized their presence.
