First time vacationing in the area and was told to bring the family to the Inlet Harbor Restaurant - as it was a great place and perfect for kids. We called ahead for a 7:30 reservation for 11 (6 adults - 5 kids from 12 to 5 yrs of age). We were told that they can only hold the reservation for 15 minutes if we were going to be late...totally understandable and not unreasonable.
We arrived at 7:40 and were told that they couldn't seat us for at least an hour or more??? Memories of the Seinfeld episode " you can take the reservation, but you can't hold the reservation". They shouldn't take one or should explain there could be a wait for a party of that size for up to 20 or 30 minutes upon arrival or longer and then it's up to you if you want to try it.
The place was packed, music loud - looked like a fun place. We tried to find open seating on the deck near the water - but people were telling us it would take at least an hour to put your food order in and no luck on a table anyway.
went back to the hostess to see if they could split us and express our dismay with the process so far. After overhearing her try to get us a table with a Manager (who didn't even want to come over to speak to us) he told her it was not possible and that the kitchen is really backed up. She started telling callers that it would take 2 hours to get your food from the time you ordered. That's really bad...I'm sure they were slammed but it was a Wednesday night, the week before Easter - so a big crowd should be expected, especially when you place that many seats.
My wife has been in the restaurant business and it was shocking to see how this all went down. If we arrived with no reservation - that's the risk you take, but to not be seated and hear about a 2 hour wait on food, be careful of coming here. We went down the road a bit to Down the Hatch and it was great!!! - I would recommend that place over...
Read moresince equity lifestyle properties purchased Inlet harbor a few months back (a loggerhead marina) things have gone downhill quickly. next to no maintenance to the property and equipment (slips, fuel system etc). current no manager on property. Major rate increase and was told by the office the money is needed to fix things. After researching equity lifestyles and seeing all the complaints about their properties looks like a rough ride ahead. do your research before staying or renting any of their properties, home, rv park or marina. Was charged 3 times for my monthly slip this month. Still working on getting it refunded it all has to go thru corp office in Chicago. i have seen a lot of changes I have been there since 2006 and this has been the worst!!!!!
And for those that don't know the Off The Hook restaurant at the marina is totally separate from the marina and ownership is not associated with the marina. Update April 2022 getting worse 1 day ago Have had a slip there since 2007. I have whiteness many changes some good and some not so good. Since the new corporate ownership and new management has taken over things have really done down hill. No bathroom and shower available after the office closes. ( use to have combo lock on door for after hour use. No washer or dryer, long gone. So any transient boaters spending the night will need to use there own onboard. Those of you coming back from a day on the water or at DI no bathroom or shower for the women and kids. Oops did I forget to mention ice! Having your boat launched from the racks you got a free bag of ice. Now $3.50 for 10 lbs. 20 lbs at bucee's is .99 cents. And with all that slips rates went up and you need a lawyer to understand the contract. I hope all Loggerhead marina's are...
Read moreSO DISAPPOINTED! If there were negative stars I would rate this a negative. We went out of our way to eat here on July 17, 2016 because I had remembered from several years back that the key lime pie was outstanding. Extremely slow service, ice tea was watertered down to the point they might as well have brought out water, no TP in one of the stalls and another had a non working toilet full of human waste. WORST of ALL, my non seafood meal was cross contaminated. I am highly sensitive to mollusks and to have a reaction would imply they are either preparing everything in one area, using the same utensils or the same person is handling all types of food without protection from cross contamination or all three. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I became symptomatic prior to leaving the restuarant, was violently ill and had an hour and a half drive home. Symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea continued for 24 hours and I continue to have severe abdominal cramping. Also had to miss a day of work. I'm convinced there are health violations, not to mention seafood contamination can KILL people. Update, my husband called the restaurant to discuss this situation and received a carefree response. The person he spoke to admits they are fully aware that they cross contaminate by using the same surface, utensils and grill for all types of foods served in there restaurant and blamed my allergic response on us for not telling our server that I was sensitive!!!! We ordered beef sandwiches, where does seafood play into this? It is obvious this establishment does NOT CARE about the gealth, safety and lives of their patrons. What else is going on in there that the guests...
