Tl;Dr - great place to visit, call ahead and make sure they have tours going the day you go.

This was going to be a highlight of our tour of the island. We were so excited to see the history that this place holds. And we did see some history, the walk through gallery and the movie were really nice, the Spanish and English translations were amazing for myself and our 6 year old who speak and read only a little Spanish. When we asked about the days yours we were told they weren't having one that day, sad but ok we can read placards on our own and get the idea of what's going on... We went out to the ceremonial grounds and there was some really cool plants with name cards a few large signs talking about ball fields, plazas and the village. But that was about it, all the history and it honestly felt like we were walking around a field with a bunch of rocks scattered about.

I feel that without a tour guide or even a map with highlights to check out, a lot of history is missed out on.

After leaving and reading Wikipedia apparently one of the ball fields had some petroglyph, honestly I walked every field looking for them while there and didn't see any. Again a guide/map would have been able to point this out...

This may sound like a negative review, but it really was...

The usage of these areas is unknown, but it is believed that they probably served for some kind of ball game. Some of them seem to have something like a sidewalk on one or more sides. The largest field does not have straight borders. For me it reminded me more of fields for different games or fighting arenas. If you visit the site pay attention to the trees with the fruits, because some very large iguanas might be sitting inside them right...

Too much wrong data out there in the world about Puerto Rico island and it's ancestors. This island and it's ancestors need to be recognized in the world of it's sculptors, artisans, music, engineers, afro-latinos, Spaniards, South America, African roots etc. Get it straight people. Do YOUR own research. TAKE YOUR GARBAGE WITH YOU. DUMP IT IN YOUR...
