Arlington Wetlands — Attraction in Pontoon Beach

Very interesting place to visit. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the boardwalk which crosses the wetland. There were a couple geese that were in the wetland. The walking path is clearly maintained and the habitat is well maintained. The path is about a mile and half in length. There is wild life that was around the area.

There is no need to buy any tickets nor is there a cost to enter the wetlands. This is a free public area that is similar to a state or county park. Make sure if you bring your pets that...

While designed with very good intentions this place seems to be abandoned. The boardwalk is essentially closed but much of the Caution tape has been torn down and the signage indicating the closure has been vandalized. We went across the boardwalk not realizing it was closed. It looks like many sections of railing have been sawed off making it entirely possible to fall into the water. I've visited this place twice in the past week to explore, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful nature trail nearby. The trail is filled with a variety of wildflowers, large turtles, and cacti. There's even a fort with bees swarming around it, adding to the unique charm of the area.
