My husband and I got married at Aix La Chapelle last August and could NOT have been happier with the entire experience. We first met with Joy to tour the location (in the dead of winter) and knew immediately it was perfect for us. We did not know exactly how beautiful it would become with all of the greenery, flowers, fields, and weather come summertime. It was everything we wanted in a wedding venue.
Joy has the most beautiful collections of glassware, dinnerware, cutlery etc. We rented a lot from her and had less to worry about through a catering company. Not to mention, all of the AMAZING antique pieces scattered throughout the farm.
The bridal quarters were perfect with a full kitchen for my girls and me. The grooms quarters are amazingly decorated old slaughter houses. Everything and everywhere we occupied was tastefully decorated, clean, and set up for our early arrival. We were able to explore the farm with our wedding photographers and get stunning photos down by the pond, in front of various fields, in the peach orchard and more. Our sunset ceremony in the peach orchard (with floral decor including the peaches), was my favorite part of the day. It was perfect in every way.
Joy helped us create a vision for the special day. She gave so many wonderful suggestions, lists of previous vendors for the farm (who we used and were amazing too), numerous tours, and made sure everything was perfect for us day-of. We genuinely had the most magical day of our lives and I think a large part of that magic came from...
Read moreMy daughter's wedding last summer at Aix La Chapelle (this is a very belated review but the joy of that day has not worn off) was an absolutely magical experience and was described by many of our guests as the most beautiful wedding they’d ever been to. The expansive lawns surrounded by cornfields and flowers, the peach orchard where the ceremony was held and the historic buildings created a whimsical setting and provided an amazing backdrop for Maggie’s vision of her special day.
We enjoyed a wonderful collaboration with the owner, Joy. From start to finish, she was gracious, fun to work with, flexible and incredibly helpful. Her unique style, which permeates everything at the farm, is sophisticated and eclectic and it was easy to find the most amazing elements in her “Emporium” to bring everything together. The quaint but well-appointed cottages where the bridal party got ready, the tented dinner under the stars, dancing in the beautifully restored “Dairy Barn,” and the charming “Bakery” where dessert was offered all contributed to the infectious energy of the celebration and created an atmosphere of joy and fun! I can’t recommend this venue...
Read moreThe venue is pretty cool, there's some nice features and it's beautiful. I was there recently for a wedding and arrived early to help set up as I was wedding party adjacent. I was pretty surprised to see that the bathrooms for the venue are shared with the brewery, I was really not expecting that for the price. The owner was a real pain, I honestly found myself wondering if she was actively going out of her way to make things difficult on the Bride and Groom. I only interacted with her a few times but seriously after each interaction I was left feeling like I was such a bother to her. She's not good at masking her distaste for someone, and I only made a simple mistake regarding where to drop off the bridal party. I don't think that warranted the sour face and glare we were met with. Just about every interaction went like this. Just ugh. Thankfully the wedding was amazing despite the owners apparent efforts.
The ground is uneven and pitted here and there. It's dangerous for the elderly and disabled. The golf cars aren't enough. I would suggest having it graded where the ceremony and tent is set up. I would also suggest having the...
