Riverview Farm Park is GREAT for families.
(There is currently some construction going on but nothing that should be a problem). It’s still open to the public.
All of it is family friendly / wheel chair accessible, stroller friendly/ pet friendly but pets must be on a leash).
For logistics: The park closes at dusk (sun down). Enforced by Park Rangers. It has its own, dedicated parking lot in the middle of the park, connecting 2 loops.
Loop 1 (to the right when entering): There is a playground (nice for younger and older kiddos), restrooms, and a soccer field, with loop 1 surrounding it all.
Loop 2, to the left when entering, leads to the mini skatepark, the river view path and to the hill, and finally loops back to the parking lot.
The river is not directly visible from the park, but is only a short 5-10 minute, super easy hike, branching off from loop 2 before reaching the hill. If you love nature, you will not want to miss it. You can keep it short or you CAN turn it into a 3 mile hike/jogg (just along the river itself) You decide how far you go :) There are Benches in between for resting/ enjoying the view.
The walk itself IS a wheelchair accessible; wooden; level to the ground, pier (see photos).
The pictures do not do it justice....
Read moreI tried to call the 888-3333 phone number that was post but only got an answering machine - which I left a message on because I absolutely love this park but something needs to be done about the bathrooms!!! The trails are wonderful to walk! The play ground is fantastic and kids have a ball there. People that come here are genuinely friendly - even if they seem to have a lot on their mind/shoulders.. and don't want conversation, they still nod and try to smile, while continuing on to walk off the stress.. And then there are the bathroom areas. !!! GAAAAAAAAWWWDDD!!!! Soooooooo gross & disgusting lately!!!!! I wish I could post the pics I took but it won't allow me to. ugh..... Who's the one collecting the paycheck for slopping the FILTHY water all over the toilets & floor and then leaving????? It's horrible! !!!! And yesterday I walked in on 2 girls that were laughing about skipping school.. someone had obviously had time to dye their hair purple because the sink was covered... the toilets haven't been cleaned in God only knows how long! And this isn't the 1st time I've had to deal w/ this issue either!! And WHY have they STILL not fixed the lock on the handy...
