I have always seen plenty of wildlife there when I have gone in the morning or late afternoon. At noon hour, the animals seem to be resting in the shade somewhere. YMMV. Take a short walk...there is usually something great to see.
What a great place to walk through! Well maintained. The paths are smooth. Some are paved. There are exercise stations along the path. There are bathrooms and playground for kids. Just a wonderful place to stop and enjoy nature. Check it out! Update: After hurricane IAN, the park suffered some major wind damage, but they have cleaned it up great! In my opinion the ONLY thing stopping me from giving it 5stars is that there is no "dog...

There is an alligator that lives in the pond surrounding the grassy center area of the park. I've seen people jogging and biking, doing tai chi, fishing, and stopping at the various exercise stations along the paths. This is one of my favorite spots in Port Charlotte to stop at whenever we are in town...
