I have always seen plenty of wildlife there when I have gone in the morning or late afternoon. At noon hour, the animals seem to be resting in the shade somewhere. YMMV. Take a short walk...there is usually something great to see.

What a great place to walk through! Well maintained. The paths are smooth. Some are paved. There are exercise stations along the path. There are bathrooms and playground for kids. Just a wonderful place to stop and enjoy nature. Check it out! Update: After hurricane IAN, the park suffered some major wind damage, but they have cleaned it up great! It's slowing getting back to normal and it's still great to walk around and experience nature! You need to visit or revisit this place! Update 2: It's been a little over a year since Ian and the park is almost 100% recovered. The only thing I wish they would fix, and this was a problem before the hurricane too, is that the trails nearest Darby Street and Midway are always under water when we get a rain. Just a couple of loads of gravel would fix it right up so this...

I take my dog for walks here n she gets to meet many other dogs! (ALLOT of ppl walk their dogs here) it does NOT have a fenced in area to let dogs run off least but it DOES have several different trails to walk so it stays interesting. There is a playground for children a public bathroom a water fountain for adults kids AND 1 for dogs lol!! There is a section w a large open field which is good for sports or large gatherings! (I live right next to it n actually saw that someone had a wedding there!! They had candles along one of the trails n a nice setup for a wedding) also along the trails they have various workout stations!! In my opinion the ONLY thing stopping me from giving it 5stars is that there is no "dog...

This is a really excellent little park in Port Charlotte that provides both an open space in the middle of the park for relaxing, winding paths through the marshy woodlands for some exercise, and a brand new playground for my kids to play on. There is an alligator that lives in the pond surrounding the grassy center area of the park. I've seen people jogging and biking, doing tai chi, fishing, and stopping at the various exercise stations along the paths. This is one of my favorite spots in Port Charlotte to stop at whenever we are in town...

Really cute lovely park! You can do anything here. From bird watching to weddings! They have it all! A playground for the kiddos. A trail easy enough for a stroller, a wheelchair and or a bicycle. Outside gym along the trail. Picnic tables. Gazebo. Field. Cute horse shoe shaped pond. Public bathrooms. Water fountain for you and your four legged friend. Ideal trails for hiking jogging running speed walking or just plain old nature stroll through the tropical jungle like surrounding!
