My favorite beach! I'd rather drive the 45 minutes to go there and I live in New Baltimore less than a mile from our beach! I will not go in or let my child go in. We go to the lovely park with terrific views except for the beach. Even 8" deep you cannot see the bottom! And the color is weird like grayish/greenish hue. Lake St. Clair beaches are closed down too much from ecol-i so that is not very inviting. Lakeside Beach is so clean and so beautiful! I feel safe at the park too, and using the restrooms. By the way, they redid the restrooms and they are nicer and more private. They redid a lot actually, since last summer. It's even nicer now. The park playground is very welcoming with the tall shade trees. Great way to cool down and have a picnic there. My son loves the swings and playground there. I get to cool off and relax while he plays. The people who go there are usually decent and not rowdy or creepy. That is very important to me. Like I said, I feel safe there. Back to the water: I can see the bottom even when it's over my head. In the more shallow areas you have to wear water shoes but that's ok. My son & I love the big waves we get from the huge...

The reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating is for following reasons. 1st reason is the price they are charging non residents. For non residents its $20 per day, without the ability to pay at discounted rate for the whole year. While the residents are only paying $5. To me its price gouging and there shouldn't be such huge gap for residents and non residents. The 2nd reason is the big stones and rock's that are in the water as soon as you get in. They are way too big, and for smaller kids who are trying to stay in shallow water, they are unbearable. Even for the adults just to go past that point its challenging. The owners need to do better job at removing majority of the stones and try to keep it more on the sandy side as the rest of the water. If those issues were fixed, I would've given it a 5 star for sure. I hope the management looks at this, as it's been the issue for the...

I have always found it Disrespectful when a place of business does not have Handicap accessible things. This is no different. The bathrooms they provide are closed at 4:00 ( I was there Sunday and Saturday 2 weekends in a row). They fo have Porta potties, but. Ot if your in a wheel chair. The beach is not sand it's small rocks. The splash zone is nice for the small kids. The staff is very Unprofessional the booth to pay there was 3 younger staff members all of which where on there phones so we drove slowly past. One started running after us to tell us they parking is $20 (before noon on a sunday) We where there the week before and didn't pay anything. When asking why we didn't pay the week before compared to $20 parking this weekend. She had an attitude took our card and walked away. We said thank you when she gave us the pass and we tried to enjoy the day...

This is a great beach to swim at with a roped off swimming area. That being said, parts of the swimming area are over an adult's head so I made my kids wear life jackets when swimming at this park. The restrooms were supposed to open at 11:00, but were unlocked a little after that. At least one restroom did not have soap in it. The snack bar opened promtly at 11:00. If you don't live in this county, you will have to pay $30 to enter, which feels like a lot of money, but this is a really big swimming beach that also has a playground and splash pad so you can make a day of it.

This is a beautiful beach and crystal clear water. Definitely recommend going during the weekday when there’s less people so you can social distance properly. We go to the smaller beach about half a mile from the main beach since it’s more secluded. If you bring your snorkeling gear you can some really cute fish near the shore and awesome rocks. Two downsides are all of the boats and jet skiers so close to the shore where people are swimming and the crazy Karen’s monitoring every inch of the private beach area even when it’s completely empty.

Beautiful beach with clean sand. it's a bit Rocky when you first go in so wear pool shoes. They have great playscapes for the kid's grills all over the place and tons of shade. They expanded the bathrooms so it's a lot nicer. Get there early or you won't get a parking space. Warning.. if your non-resident it's going to cost you 20 bucks to get in to the beach. But it's totally worth it. they also usually have a food truck there with ice cream and they have a place to rinse off your feet. Plus volleyball nets and you can buy ice.
