It's one of the worst places it has turned into. I thought it would be a nice park to rest and walk around at . I get stalked and harass by some people there who I don't know who they are or what they try to prove and I feel like it's a racal discrimination, hate crime that is happening to me when I go there . Even Portland police has intimidated me causing me to leave feeling like I done something wrong putting me in fear, also at Smith and bybee natural wetland park, heroin golf lake, in which I have video of these individuals doing what seems to be harassment, driving up and down the road like it's a highway, same car or persons follow me to other parks close by and doing the samething and at times pull up beside me and at times park their cars facing me with bright head lights during the day to see if I react to the brightness and they sit in their cars just starring to annoy me. It's a discrace how I can't even enjoy the parks like everyone else. I remember getting stuck at Smith and bybee natural wetland park, the nighttime metro park ranger who close's the park at sundown try to ask my girl if she's willing to work something out asking her like for sex favor for a jump which this old sleezball so called park ranger didn't realize I was in my SUV, once he saw me then threatened to get the tow truck to tow my vehicle away. I ask myself why he couldn't help with a jump so I can get my SUV out from the park when they wore gonna lock the gates, Then portland police showed up, said they couldn't do anything with a jump also. Then park ranger lied to the officers saying that i was banned from the park, i couldnt believe that he lied straight to the officers face. So me and my girlfriend got locked in the park at night time sitting in the cold when it was kinda of in the winter weather time suffering thru the cold night till they opened up in the morning which some nice person gave us a jump start to leave the park, Never felt so low in my life like that suffering the cold night with my girl starving ...night train BNSF workings didn't bother to help us at all when we ask nicely for help they just said it's not our problem. Worst places ever .. to much racist going on and it's not being brought up in the news media .. very sad feeling about Portland.. used to be friendly and helping others out was not a problem, now...
Read moreAfter a long nature hike my friend and I decided to take a short nap because we were exhausted and didn't want to drive in that condition. This being said it was close to 7:30 p.m. and knew that the Park closed at 10. Unfortunately our cell phones had drained away while we were taking snapshots of Nature and we're too exhausted realize it. Are alarm subsequently did not work and we were locked in the park by the automated gate system that closed at 10 p.m. We attempted to leave around 11:30 p.m. and they remote-controlled gate was closed. The sign stated pulled forward to the white line in order to exit, this did not work. All the Portland Park numbers for assistance have no voicemails and requested that we call back upon opening at 6 a.m. if there had been a medical emergency, or a fire, First Responders couldn't get in the park, and we could not get out of the park, which is the circumstance at this very moment at 5:19 a.m. we did not believe it was essential to call First Responders away in order to open a gate that should have had some sort of WORKING Emergency Exit Caapbilities. but my big question is why a park ranger didn't make the rounds and tell everybody that the park was closing for those in an unfortunate situation of being napping due to the nature of the Kelley Point Park which is Acres of natural reserves for hiking and biking. I will never visit this park again and will, be sure to inform all of my nature friends from Northwest Portland Skyline and the West Hills that this is definitely not the place to Bicycle hike or view nature. it is a dangerous park with no emergency access for First Responders getting in, or unfortunate Park patrons getting out. Beware Kelley Point Park is not the place to do your biking, hiking, and Green...
Read moreA park on the Columbia River in the heart of Portland's Industrial/Port District.
Northwest of downtown Portland, tucked away in a corner of land on the Columbia lies Kelley point park. It's a riverside walk with greenery and space for the kids or dogs to run around. On this visit, a gigantic shipping barge... the ones that bring the new cars from faraway lands... was getting tugged out and starting it's journey back home. The ship's diesel fumes lightly diffused through the water adding a unique sense to the ambience of the park. This park was commissioned years ago when they dredged the river to make room for the barges like the one we saw... even though it's a nature walk one can get a sense of how the ports surrounding the park really breathe life into the city named, matter of factly, Portland. It's an easy walk with plenty of space to accommodate people passing each other. The paths are generally flat but one could opt to walk on the river sand as well. Free parking. It's quick and charming way to...
