West Hills Village Senior Residence — Attraction in Portland

I've been recently been exploring assisted living options & have decided to tour a few. I stopped by West Hills Village this past weekend & was pretty disappointed. It seemed dirty & outdated to me. There wasn't anyone at the front desk so I went to the nurses station like the sign stated. I did ask a sweet lady how she liked it here. Her response was "it's okay". Not exactly a glowing review. After nearly 10 minutes I finally got someone to get me some information & show me around quickly. I was floored by the pricing for an apartment there. The apartment was very small, again very outdated & didn't have a shower that someone could roll into. I guess that may work for independent living but not for assisted living. This community may have charm to some but I'm looking for something a lot nicer (that's less expensive). I would just like to say i am no where near impressed with this assisted living home , first of all they treat their staff terribly which is not ok at all in any way, if i’m looking for somewhere to live for the rest of my life i would like my caretakers to be joyful and not down because of the environment they are in or how they are treated when they are here. The inside is very grungy looking , dark and extremely out dated. I would never put one of my family members or myself in an environment like Westhills village. food is low quality and not appetizing at all. If you are looking to put one of your family members or yourself into an assisted living home i would not recommend west hills from my own...

My sister says that living here has been the happiest she has ever been in her life! I am so excited she gets to live here and I get to visit her regularly for lunch’s and activities. I love the staff and Looking forward to many years with west hills to come!

My first grade teacher lived here and I visited her a lot here while visiting others. Funny enough, I recommended west hills to the last person I ever worked for (a judge). He absolutely loved living here.
