SoTex Farms — Attraction in Poteet

This is a wonderful farm! I visited today with my children to purchase some of their famous Pearl strawberries! And it was a delightful experience! Not only were they so kind and let my kinder age daughter pick out the clamshell of berries she wanted, they also took the time to tell us about the farm, their berries, their animals, the history of the property, and about local legends and historical events! Genuinely was such a magical experience! It feels great supporting local, but it was so educational and inspiring just chatting- and you can really feel the love! We drove to this place from Corpus Christi TX for strawberry picking. The two hour drive was worth it for our group, a family of three with many kids. All the staff were very nice and very professional. Our kids had a great time because of the abundance of ripe strawberry. The farm was a perfect size for both young and old to enjoy picking strawberry. We were also told by the lady that after strawberry season, they also plant watermelons. Made an appointment to pick at 9am. Got there and the gate was open, so drove in. Nobody was there. Called the number and was told ‘we are shopping in Pleasanton.’ Asked if we could go ahead and pick and were told ‘my mother-in-law doesn’t like to have people on the property if we’re not there. You’d probably only get a pint or two.’ So went to drive out and the gate was closed. Had to call them back to ask how to get out. If I could give a zero star...
