First of all, I am from the Bonney Lake area and if you are not, you better do your research because Google maps is Google wrong . not really sure what's up with that . I only can imagine how many people show up according to there maps and find out they are in a neighbor hood.(That must be a pain) Its about an hour from that pin on google. This almost happened to my cousin (from Redmond) but after he met up with me on the hill he tried to help me with directions, except I knew where I was going, an eye opener for him. LOL. Its still half hour to 45 minutes south east of Bonney Lake past Wilkeson and Carbonado ( Hwy165.... over single lane Fairfax Bridge after Carbonado....stay right at the "Y" and up hill after the bridge......road turns to gravel........dodge potholes for a while...... on the left before you get to Mowich Lake if this helps) . the reason 2 stars is for the trails , the only reason for stars, because the trails are great, CHALLENGING (its in the MOUNTAINS or what we call the foothills) , also Awsome views of Mt. Rainier(bring your camera for the group shot) , but bring locks for your locks or group of people with people that stay with your stuff. I have heard of ramps, gas cans, cars stolen from Mowich Trail head and dumped over a cliff at the top of the Orv park area(Nissan Pulsar from a really nice man that I personally knew), Truck ditched off a hill running still, with plates off. So if you show up and its quiet I wouldn't even risk it. Sorry to say that but like I've said I am from this area and there are some rotten apples out there to ruin it for families that just want to enjoy each others company in fun. If you do go, be safe and have fun. Don't forget your N.W. Forest pass ($30-35 annual) in Burnett. P.S. I have heard you can get a ticket on the gravel road between the first unload area and the campground area if you are not a plated off road vehicle so choose your unload area wisely. Follow the directions on this post, on google maps and zoom in on the "Evans Creek O.R.V./ Campgrounds" (NF-7930) will populate and there will be some more reviews and respectfully they had better experiences with Evans Creek. Its a great place if the "Apples" didn't hit the ground!!!...
Read moreI got my Rivian R1S last week and wanted to find a place to try it out off road. I had actually come across Evans Creek by accident a few years ago when I wanted to go camping at Mowich Lake, but found that road was still blocked off due to snow. Ever since I put my pre-order in for the R1S, Evans Creek had been at the top of my list to try out. When I got there today I found large posts jutting up across the entryways onto the trails. I think this was to limit the size of vehicles that can enter. I managed to get through the entryway toward the left of the staging area with a few inches of clearance on either side, and no scratches. I didn't try the other gates. I kept to the main trail, which was full of potholes and puddles. It was a lot of fun splashing around. Since I was by myself, had never been up these trails before, and the place seemed practically deserted, I kept to the main trail and didn't go anywhere too crazy. I eventually turned around and...
Read moreThis place great. Just the people that use the trails are not so great. Especially people who use rocks to steer there jeep all the way back to camp without throwing the rocks back after you broke your steering. And totally sitting here because three hudge rocks magically apear in my line that werent there 5 min ago. I expect trails to change but not like this. In a negligence and disregard for others saftey. I now am. Here with broken ribs because of it. Just throw the boulders back off the...
