A awesome place to learn...but tainted with a bunch of sorry individuals work here such as those in the finance department and parking administration. For finance: takes too long to process paperwork which is done inefficiently too.

For parking and the committee that decides on the citations, was issued a ticket that was wrongfully overcharged, despite arguing their own rules and their lack of transparency. Moreover, they have yet to resolve their parking issues - too many cars with not enough place to put it.

Lastly, as a recently graduated mechanical engineer, our college buildings get far less attention then they should considering we are one of, if not THE largest out of other colleges on campus. Moreover, department heads are anything but helpful -espicially that of Mechanical Engineering. I have committed alot of time trying to make a difference such as helping out for the department or organizations- but besides the lack of support from students, the negligence from the professors truly sets the tone that perhaps this place doesn't deserve anything but to be utilized for what it is there for and move on without "giving back". It's better to not look back on a biased culture that cares more for status quo than progress and enrichment as the founders intended long ago.

With that in mind, if you must go here, give anyone hell that doesn't treat you right. If you are gonna be an engineer, think twice about...

DO NOT ATTEND OR SEND ANYBODY THAT YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! The campus police and surrounding area of Waller County is one of the worst places you can send your child. The campus police are very unprofessional and racially profile anybody that doesn’t fit the Waller County standards. If you want your child to receive an education without the worries of Police profiling, assaulting or murdering then THIS IS NOT THE SCHOOL TO ATTEND. Sandra Bland was murdered in the same county jail where this school is located and nothing has changed or been done to ensure the safety of our children and loved ones who attend or work here. My family will no longer be associated with this campus and I will NOT recommend a single person to come here. The campus police and surrounding police, are preying on the faculty/student body and their families whenever they feel like it. If this isn’t enough, just tour the campus and you’ll see exactly what I am talking about. The safety of the people on campus is not their...

I love PV, I have no regrets choosing this school over UH. I'm a transfer student Fall 2016 in Engineering. Almost all the students are nice, and you'll have many opportunities to make friends. Library is great. The professors are very knowledgeable and support their students in one way or another.

Cons I would say is sometimes if you need something done (especially financial aid), you'll have to make multiple trips back and forth because your information has been messed up. Either that or you'll get transferred to other people, only to get where you started. The food is so-so, you have to find the right time to come in to atlas get a decent meal. Parking is a nightmare if your first class after 1030, so get up early and find yourself a parking spot.

Overall, PVAMU has a great student body. The campus is beautiful, but some offices should get try and prevent student having to make 100 trips back to...
