Cooters Pond Park — Attraction in Prattville

Nice and quiet place to take your dog for a walk. The pond opens up into the Alabama river. It has a boat ramp, and 2 pretty decent sized docks. One dock seems to be mostly used to fish from. It can fish about 6 people comfortably. There is one more spot you could fish from behind the pavilion. I took my some and we fished with everything except live bait. No luck. Multi use outdoor park. From boat launch for Alabama River to dog park. Many picnic areas with private grills, playground, basketball court, large grass areas for frizby and yard games and two huge pavillions in good shape (needs a spring cleaning). Looks like regular maintenance occurs. Needs the safety fence completed at the upper level lookout. A sitting bench would be a good addition on it. Looking forward to making use of it much more. Very nice park with lots of open space for picnics and family fun. Our dog loved the dog park! The only thing that could make this better is trails down around the pond for a stroll.

Note that the parking lot Google Maps directs you to is near the picnic area and boat ramps. For the dog park and playground, keep going around that first loop until you come to a gate with a park sign next to it. Take a right and go up a short hill to find the rest...
