Absolutely LOVE IT HERE..My only real wish would be for it to be more level where the roots are taking over on the beginning curve of the back stretch. However this is where I go when I need to recharge. Mentally, Emotionally and spiritually🦋🌛🦋🌛!!! The absolute BEST PLACE to be ONE with MOTHER EARTH... a dream😍 When you go, bring a blanket, a pillow and find one of many dreamy spots and JUST LAY THERE.. soak up all mother nature has to OFFER... My 3 yo and I LOVE IT HERE.. charged up my centers in 5 mins, ( actually both of us did) Hands to the Sun, barefeet on the ground, arrived feeling more negativity that day than I'd felt in a long time.. left feeling AHHHHH-MAZZZZINGLy recharged and ready to take on anything that came my way... with love and light of course🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 also, if park's and recreation really has to put up those eye sore signs to keep yall from cutting down bamboo, then do us all a favor.. STAY AWAY FROM THE FORREST!!!!! I've been going there for 25 years.. never once have I CUT ANYTHING from there.. sure I take leaves off the ground.. but leave this place the way you find it (impeccably GORGEOUS) If my THREE YEAR OLD can leave there without Messing with the beauty, you teens and grown ups can surely do the same.. I want all OUR babies to be able to experience the Bamboo Forrest for 25 + years as well.. Blessed Be, sending love and light to any and all who read this. You are LOVED, you are ENOUGH and YOU..HAVE...A...HUGE...PURPOSE... never forget that!! If you bring small kids/kids at all.. or yourself during summer especially, no matter WHAT TIME OF THE DAY, DO NOT go without some Essential oils for mosquito, or even bring the store bought OFF spray.. bc they'll tote you away , those mosquitoes are something serious ESPECIALLY in...

Be very careful. To get to the park you have to drive through a very sketchy area and they are watching and waiting. My wife took our grandkids early on a Tuesday morning and a car pulled up behind hers and was trying to see if it was unlocked. The grandchildren were almost back from the walk and saw them. They jumped in their car and drove away before my wife could get the tag. Needless to say a few moments later could have been a deadly interaction if they had been in the process of breaking in when they returned. It is sad that you can't feel safe anywhere when these types of thugs are always lurking around trying to take rather...

Nice little place to see if you're in the area. Its a short (1/4 mile) gravel trail that circles around a sketchy looking pond. There didn't appear to be any other marked trails for hiking which would have been nice because most of the bamboo is concentrated on one side so you don't really walk through it. This park is approximately 5 miles from I-65 making it an easy stop while traveling through the area but in my opinion this is not a destination. We spent maybe 45 minutes here and that was being generous. We really enjoyed seeing all the bamboo and don't regret the stop but probably wouldn't go again. Slightly...

We ventured out with my kids to explore a new place while in town visiting family. The trail itself was very short, but plenty of interesting things to stop and look at. Very easy trail—not super stroller friendly due to tree roots but passable. My boys loved the stream area, which was tucked off the main trail. The bamboo canopy is actually very thick, so the entire area was super shaded, even at 2 pm, keeping us cool in the Alabama heat. There were various markers noting the bamboo varieties that you saw. Bullfrogs sounded off all over the marshy pond.
