I initially thought of the University of Mobile's campus as a really great and friendly Christian place, where the people liked doing the jobs they have, but now I'm not so sure. I have been to the campus multiple times, visiting my girlfriend. At first, the security men seemed like genuinely nice guys, but as time has passed, the more rude a couple of them have gotten. They seem to either sincerely hate their jobs and take out their bad attitude on other people, or treat me as if I'm sort of a criminal. I don't feel comfortable on this campus anymore. I feel like I'm constantly being watched and sometimes followed by certain security. I feel threatened by their presence to the point where I don't feel welcome anywhere on campus. On top of that, the cafeteria staff seemed rather rude these most recent times. They seemed like they didn't want to be here and their attitudes reflect that. There were knats stuck to brownies and one of the workers got an attitude when she was asked about when they open on Saturday. We informed her that the website says 10 and she very rudely said, "No, we don't open until 10:30! We just felt the need to let her know nicely, that the website says 10 and we probably would've been fine with her answer if she hadn't had such a disrespectful attitude about it. So many different things are starting to make me question what kind of standards the University is holding their workers to. If I were a parent, I would be concerned about these issues and as well as others not mentioned. I would expect these kinds of things from a public university, but not from a private, more expensive Baptist college that is supposed to be better in every way. I'm sincerely disappointed with this school's quality right now and I for sure will find somewhere else to transfer...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting “university”. I withdrew by a few days after my drop date and was still charged alone for a $5000 student loan, but when I spoke to the business office, I was informed I would only owe a portion of the tuition directly to the University of Mobile that would be determined at a later time. I was informed that I would receive a bill at a later time. And then I came to find out that there was not only a student loan in my name for 5,000 dollars, but they sent a $3000 bill to collections in my name after NEVER Mailing or emailing me a bill that I owed the University. They are strictly scam artists and will not even respond to your emails. They do not care about your education yet claim to be a Christian college. I urge anyone looking at attending here to please go somewhere else. Please do not waste thousands like I did. They will be hearing...
Read moreThere are a lot of positive, wonderful things to say about the University of Mobile. The Center for Performing Arts is absolutely amazing in its leadership, its programs, and the many branches of service and outreach through the groups and ensembles that perform all over. The people I have dealt with in the Business Office have been just as nice as they can be. Ram Rush seems like it is just super fun. With that said, I understand that the Wifi in certain dorms is spotty, which makes me wonder what the technology fee is for. And I also understand that the food in the caf leaves much to be desired. However, meals can be exchanged at a few locations on campus so that's pretty good. But generally, I love so many things about this school that I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any...
