Mash Fork Falls is a lovely little waterfall located in Camp Creek State Park. On this visit I did an out and back trail run following Turkey Loop trail to White Oak trail to Deer Crossing trail to Kneeley Knob trail to Bear Wallow trail past Campbell Falls and turning and going back instead of going for a loop. Two things you might want to keep in mind if you are traveling on foot, there are a lot of creek crossings on this route and you will get wet feet and the route I did totalled 25 miles so take care of your feet. Also remember that these trails are used by equestrians so be prepared to follow trail etiquette regarding yielding to horses, etc. You will also encounter manure and 'hoof churning' in spots on the trails. The manure is not a danger, just a little inconvenient in some places. There is a beautiful Vista with a picnic table on the Kneely knob trail. Unfortunately, there were several mounds of manure next to the table. I don't mind manure on the trail, but it would be nice if equestrians would take a little time to move their horse's deposits away and to the side of the table area in consideration of other...
Read moreVERY IMPORTANT, do not use the address in your GPS. If arriving from the north DO NOT take exit 18 to Odd Road, take exit 20. This will put on a one lane goat trail up into the mountains with switchbacks and there is no easy way out.You can not turn around if pulling something. We spent an hour wandering around the maze before we managed to get out 40 miles away from the camp ground. Once you exit follow the brown signs. We spent two nights in the park November 2020. Very nice park, friendly staff, great hiking. Wifi and t-mobile 2...
