Murray mountain agate beds. First time I've been here, like most public digs it has been worked over very well , but if you are willing to take the time to read the tailings, you can tell where the land has not been disturbed .dig down until you find a layer of greenish , clay. That is where I found mine . Make sure you bring plenty of water. You will need it to Rinse the clay off to see if it's a rock or a agate.. will be back ..if you have the time two days would be best first day to explore start digging , second day to get your good stuff , good luck.

My family has camped, fished, and hunted here for many generations. I love it here. One of my favorite places in the world. Always feels like everything is right when you camp here. However, I would kindly ask that folks carry out their garbage. It is starting to become more common to see garbage than wildlife and that is extremely sad. I grab what I see, but if everyone just does a little bit, it will get better. Thank you.

Love the Ochocos, and they have a lot to offer from hunting, fishing, wood cutting and world class rock hounding. Be sure to keep an eye out for the wild horses, and stop by Walton Lake for a majestic lake view. Please be sure to pick up your trash, and help keep our hidden spot as wild and natural as possible.

The Ochoco's are some of, if not the most beautiful mountain range in central oregon. There is much to explore. There are lakes, beautiful canyons, and marked trail systems that are terrific for hiking, horseback riding and ATV riding. The Ochoco's are also a winter destination as well for out back sking and snow mobiling. The Ochoco range is also home to many species of wildlife to include mule deer, Rocky Mountain Elk, Black Bear, cougars, Bobcats, and many more. It is a premier destination for many hunters looking to...
