White Barn — Attraction in Prospect

The White Barn is a beautiful venue. I would have recommend this venue to others except for the inappropriate behavior of the owner on our wedding day. Because of this, I will not recommend this venue to ANYONE. Jan (owner of white barn) was giving tours to prospective couples 1-3 hours before our wedding. We were getting ready in the bridal suite and setting up for the wedding in our PJs while he gave 3 tours to strangers. After the 1st tour we asked if he could stop as we were trying to get ready. He said sorry and continued to show the property to 2 other couples and their families. We continued to ask him to stop which he didn’t. One of the couples he was showing had small children who broke one of our decorations. Our photographer/videographer were trying to get photos of the reception before guests arrived but Jan was showing the venue and couldn’t get photos of the empty venue. Jan also showed the air bnb property (we rented it from Friday-sunday) on his tours while the men were getting ready. Jan opened the door of the bridal suite (without knocking) to show his guest the bridal suite WHILE WE WERE GETTING DRESSED! Children were getting dressed while strangers entered the room for their tour. This was extremely inappropriate and should not happen while the venue / air bnb is...

As a wedding photographer, this is hands down one of my favorite venues. The property is absolutely gorgeous and I am always finding new spots to shoot every time I work there. The pond behind the barn at sunset is something else! The staff is friendly and professional and we are always fed well with Medure's Catering for dinner. (also my favorite caterers!) Beautiful wedding venue with a variety of amazing places for photographs. Natural light comes in the main entrance windows. Plenty of space for guests to move around. Private area downstairs for brides to get ready. Two floors to easily keep the bride and groom separate. The pond area has a boat to utilize, but I would have your photographer find it earlier in the day and pull it into the grass to dry. Sometimes it gets filled...
