My recent visit to Ponce De Leon Park was a truly enjoyable experience, earning a solid 5-star rating. This park offers a wonderful combination of natural beauty and various recreational activities, making it a great destination for different interests.
One of the standout features is the wildlife conservation preserve located within the park. It's inspiring to see the dedication to preservation, especially considering the challenges they've faced. Recent hurricanes caused significant damage, with a devastating 9-foot storm surge that decimated their main buildings. Currently operating out of trailers for their office and gift shop, the staff, including a very knowledgeable individual named Barb, are doing commendable work. I was particularly captivated by Bella, a beautiful owl residing at the preserve. While their current facilities primarily house aviary animals, they have plans to include more land mammals as their new conservation building is developed with the help of visitor donations. It's heartwarming to know that visiting and donating directly supports these crucial conservation efforts.
Beyond the conservation area, the park boasts a lovely beach with a unique blend of fine, white powder sand mixed with numerous broken seashells. It creates an interesting texture and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. For families, there's a children's park, and for those who enjoy being on the water, the park also provides opportunities for fishing and a convenient boat launch to access the Gulf. Public restrooms are also available within the park.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Ponce De Leon Park and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The park offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, recreational activities, and peaceful spots to unwind.
One of the highlights of the visit was the serene beach area. It was the perfect spot to relax, take in the scenic views, and enjoy the calming sound of the waves. The park's sandy shores and clear waters make it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll or a quiet moment of reflection.
The walking trails were another standout feature. They are well-maintained and provide a great way to explore the natural surroundings. I appreciated the variety of wildlife and native plants along the paths, which added to the overall charm of the park.
For those interested in birdwatching, the park's boardwalk and observation tower offer excellent vantage points. I was able to spot several species of birds, making it a rewarding experience for any nature enthusiast.
The park also has picnic areas equipped with tables and grills, making it a fantastic spot for a family outing or a casual get-together with friends. We enjoyed a lovely picnic while taking in the picturesque views of the harbor.
The on-site facilities, including restrooms and a playground, were clean and well-kept, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Additionally, the parking area was convenient and easily accessible.

Read moreThis place is great. Here are a few photos of the bird sanctuary that's located on the grounds. The bird sanctuary is a place for injured or rescued indigenous beautiful creatures from the Florida area. The star of the show is Luna, the white owl, everything in the gift shop has Luna on it somewhere, she was born all white which is not the natural color of this breed of owl, so she's kind of a big deal for such a tiny little bird. The sanctuary itself is very small, but the work they do is amazing, and the varied array of gorgeous wildlife there make it a definite go to spot if you're in the area. The Ponce De Leon Park is right on the beach and has statues of Ponce scattered about along with picnic tables and a small playground for children. Oh, and there's a hot dog cart there too. Great place to go and watch the sunset and get some good nature energy in...
