Terripin Farm Stand — Attraction in Quincy

We visited the farm today and were really impressed with the beautiful mums, pumpkins, and local products. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we ended up purchasing about $100 worth of items!

After shopping, we asked the staff if we could take a few photos by the pumpkins. They gave us permission, mentioning that a $50 photography fee only applied to professional photographers. My sister, who is by no means a professional, took some pictures for us with her camera. However, shortly after, the owner approached us and asked if we had paid the professional photography fee. We explained what the employees had told us, but the owner seemed unhappy and was quite abrupt.

The mixed messages left us feeling uncomfortable. We understand the need to protect their business from professional photographers, but this could have been handled more politely with better communication between the staff and owner. What a gorgeous place! We went to see the sunflower maze and gardens. It was such a fun experience. Lots of beautiful flowers and a lovely herb garden, too. We met the owner and she was so kind and friendly. Highly recommend, though it would be better to go a little earlier in the sunflower season than we did.
