Read moreIf over by Vantage stop by to view the horses. There is plenty of parking, including handicap. Most will not make the trek up the steep slope to the actual horses but that is okay. Sadly part of the information blocks was damaged not repaired many years ago. Also, there are no facilities there. (Recommend someone look into 1 or 2 handicap portable toilets for at least May thru Sept ). Also very late at night you might encounter biting bugs so be prepared. Also this is very warm country at times and it has critters that enjoy that, i.e. rattlesnakes so again be aware and cautious of your surroundings especially if you have young ones with you. There is no fee to visit. You can enjoy your food there; however, no tables and it is pack it in - pack it out, please. Scenic view of surrounding area and offers some photo opportunities for those...
Read moreStopping at Wildhorse Monument in Vantage is always a must when you are crossing over the Columbia River. I just crossed the bridge and driving East on I-90 I look up excited about being almost there, I see someone standing up on the ledge on the bluff looking over. Finding it kinda cool. Must be a great view. And as I pull up it’s a gentleman and his guitar. I hand to capture a few shots of him and the sunset being behind him.
I finally approached and let him know, “sorry didn’t mean to stalk you but I got a couple good pics and offered to send them to him. He was so nice and grateful. It was his moms passing anniversary and he was just having a moment.
Love Wildhorse Monument...
