We were at La Coca Falls and my husband asked a man who was talking to some folks about swimming in the river.... well, about swimming in the river. It turns out, Eddie was a tour guide! He gave us the low down and then even remembered us when we ran into each other at the swimming hole. My sister-in-law ended up having quite a conversation with Sr. Rivera and she said to recommend everyone look him up. His company does everything! (I'll also do a review for his company, Pandora Tour Puert Rico. He gave us the info for free but we wouldn't have had such a magical experience without his guidance! Thanks Eddie!) We had an amazing time lounging in the river. I chose NOT to swim in the large swimming holes as the water was extremely unappealing but up the river over a few big boulders, the water is fairly clear. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! The water was so refreshing! We would have stayed for hours if we had been traveling alone or if our others had gotten in. It was seriously so cool! Literally and figuratively! lol Only a couple folks were there when we arrived so we were so surprised to see the 'beach' and roadside parking had quite filled up when we made our way back down. We couldn't hear a thing! We highly recommend! Road 988 off the road into El Yunque. You won't regret it, even if you don't get in. So pretty. And give Eddie a call! He'll...
Read moreA very nice place to spend a day with your family or loved one specially in the hot summer months. The walk from the street to the river is a little steep, but nothing too dangerous. Many people go there with tents, grills etc. There are 2 sides to choose from. On the weekends the place is packed, especially in summer months, but you can just go down the river (carefully) to find your perfect spot. As with any river on the island, there are little or no security features, just the river, please be cautious.
Please avoid the river if it has been raining a couple of days before because the water gets very murky (like mud) and the current is stronger. Also remember to please take your trash with you and avoid excessive loud music.
Very recommended. Parking is available on the road and the river is right next to it.
UPDATE: As of now, the main road to the river is closed due to repairs. Please check the...
Read moreAs a kid this was the spot to splash and have fun there is a history on this bridge. My grandfather is from (Sabana-Luquillo) he is 92-years old. He explained that the reason they call it Puente Roto-Broken Bridge that it was made of wood and that it was broken so many times from the river currents pressure the way they designed the bridge and or other factors. Until the government finally had created a well sturdy constructed bridge. This path of road leads you to (Rio Grande-El Yunque)~(Rain Forest) that's a neighbor and that the water from this river is connected from the...
