Coming from the Chicagoland area, I am very familiar with the rates that audio establishments often charge. When I first contacted him circa 2004, I was shocked at his honesty and incredibly reasonable fees. At the time, I had a Lexicon 212 amplifier that was sounding awful. All the shops I called wanted at minimum $50 upfront and had at least three to five weeks turnaround time.
That's when I remembered an audio establishment where I purchased some accessories. They pointed me to Ron and, to my surprise, there was no up front fee and, in the end, he charged me $21 for the work, which was largely cleaning of the amp, and it was completed within two days.
I have since done business with Ron at Audio Shop for over 10 years with servicing of professional DJ equipment (which I've since sold off), as well as home audio gear and, let me tell you, his work is consistently excellent, his rates are extremely reasonable, and turn around time is quick. I could not recommend him more.
If you want someone honest, fair, and efficient to do work on your audio equipment,...
Read moreRon at the Audio shop. Not enough positive words can be said. Fast turnaround rime is because the man has true hard core passion and old school work ethic thats far gone today, Trust, the number 1 thing with Rin is trust. Solid state amps, he can do that in his sleep. Give him a Fisher or Dynaco or Mcintosh big boy tube amp, and give him some time as these parts are not on the shelves anymore, he will make it sing like off the assembly line. That is a true tech..The days of bias and resistors, and not just a board. Thats what makes him so damn good. Plus, he is a man that lives as good as his work. Never complains, just be polite and give him some time to get the job done, Today we want it now, but amps take a bit of time and patients. So I end by saying he is my tech for as long as he is working, and a man I call a friend too. I love just to listen to his knowledge. When I turn my tube amps on each time, I know its Rin that made them sound that rich. If a award we had to give for quality, he would be first in line. Thank...
Read moreFound out about Ron and the Audio Shop at a great Kenosha favorite, Chesters Electronics. I was just grabbing a cord I knew they would likely have. The sweet woman that helped me was kind enough to listen to my receiver woes and suggested Ron. It was a Saturday and I called him at once. I gave a brief description of my receiver and the problem I was having. Ron said bring it in, which I did. My receiver is nothing special, but it is to me. I dropped off my Dennon DRA 635R and Ron was more than helpful and not presumptuous about my meager receiver (saw a lot of high-end stuff he had in his shop). He called several days and said she's ready. I really enjoyed speaking with Ron and was stoked to get my receiver back. Ron's price was fair and I will surely use him for any further needs. I am really interested in some vintage stuff and that is right in his...
