Pawnee Rock State Historic Site — Attraction in Radium

Very interesting, historical location with monuments & lookout area. Numerous plaques describing events that took place at the site. It sits on the North end of Pawnee Rock, KS. A lot of history in this area. It sits on the highest point in the area, for visibility, to be able to see incoming threats in a time of war. You can go up a winding staircase to the top of the building area & see for many miles in any direction. It's a must-see for anyone, with some light hiking areas around the Rock. This place was way cooler than I was led to believe! The history of the site makes it worth a stop if you're in the area. The platform and monument is cool, but the amazing thing is seeing the names of all the travelers who came through on the Santa Fe Trail. The rock face is completely covered in names. It's not the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone but this place is pretty cool. The local story is, during its era, it was used to spot Indian movement and alert Fort Larned if needed.
