We enjoyed strolling around the lake and relaxing on the willow-tree shaded benches in this public park. There is free parking, a picnic table area and 2 portable toilets, but no other amenities. They allow fishing in the pond for youth under 16. The park includes a restored historic mansion with adjacent parking. The mansion with brick patio in the rear is not open for public view but is available for rental. Warning: be aware that residents bring their off-leash dogs here. The dogs are supposed to stay leashed until visitors reach the adjoining Skunk Hollow Park. However, we saw groups of dogs running off-leash around parts of the park. There is also a nice long path that's about a 45 minute hike if you follow the white markers. Be warned during warm weather: I did see a couple black snakes while walking through the woods.
