Anderson Point Park, located along Raleigh's Neuse River Greenway, is a tranquil refuge that provides a one-of-a-kind natural escape. This hidden jewel is cherished for its tranquil environment and breathtaking natural scenery, making it an ideal destination for anybody wishing to unwind, explore, or simply enjoy the outdoors. The park's well-kept pathways go through wooded regions and open meadows, offering a range of stunning vistas and calm settings for hikers, walkers, and children. Anderson Point Park's picturesque vistas are one of its most appealing features. These sites provide breathtaking views of the Neuse River and adjacent landscapes, making them ideal for relaxing or photography. For birdwatchers, the park is a refuge; it is home to countless bird species, and you will frequently see families and bird aficionados calmly observing the local fauna from designated bird-watching locations. The park's layout is both welcoming and family-friendly, with open areas ideal for picnics or simply allowing children to explore nature safely. Its peaceful surroundings make it ideal for a quiet walk, but it also connects to the broader Neuse River Greenway for those want to expand their experience. Anderson Point Park blends natural beauty, calm, and accessibility, making it a great place for anybody wishing to experience Raleigh's outdoor amenities from a more peaceful...

Honestly, I'd classify Raleigh's bike trails as the city's leading attraction, and Anderson Point Park is the starting point for many of its trails. From here you can bike to Clayton, North Hills, NC State, and so many other places. The prime trails are along the Neuse river. Lots of well maintained asphalt paved paths, quaint bridges, and ample shade, and teaming wildlife. The park itself is relatively large, with lots of families using it for picnics, frisbee, and general fun. There's a cottage that might be rented out. There are two parking lots, one just before the bridge to the park, and one after. Although the lots can can fill quickly, you never feel crowded on the bike trails. Thanks you to the Raleigh city fathers that planned and paid for the park and bike trails. Your foresight...

This is not a park, this is just parking for access to the Neuse River Trail. This section of the Greenway or trail is parallel to a sewer line that pumps the sewer smell out along the path. Also, it backs up to neighborhoods so you're under constant feeling of being watched which defeats the point of going out to walk in nature. It is mostly in the direct sun with no shade. Although it parallels the river, the path is too far from the river & you only get tiny glimpses os it. This section of the river is mostly sandbars, not much water. So this attempt at creating a green space is an example of poor planning & a waste of tax payer money. There's very little sense of being in nature here. This was my 1st & last time visiting as this was a major disappointment. Don't let the...

Opening in 1999 with 174 acres of space, the park is managed by the city of Raleigh. It is easily accessible via the I-87 expressway and located between the Neuse River and Crabtree Creek waterways. I actually discovered this park by accident by traveling along the Neuse River trail. It was a quite a pleasant surprise as nice quiet, shady spot for a break on a warm day. I made use of wooden swinging benches overlooking the field. It turns out that the field (along with clubhouse and picnicking shelters) are available for reservation with a fee. The park was clean with well-maintained facilities (including restrooms). I will definitely add to the go-to list for spring/summer hang outs spots.

One of the first park playgrounds we ever visited here in Raleigh. Huge park with tons of open space, for walking on trails, bike riding, jogging, playing ball, soccer or frisbee. Cute little playground area. Nothing big to write home about but, a decent playground for kids five and under, in my opinion. There’s a few slides, ten swings, a “cable slide” runner, bridges , monkey bars, and thee HUGEST sandbox in all of Raleigh! So, if ya don’t wanna drive to the beach, just come here for the sand instead! LoL
