Awesome trail for all levels. It's very scenic with wildlife and river(s). It's very shady, so even on a hot day, you can still get those steps and miles in. As always, be mindful of your surroundings. I have seen a few snakes and coyotes while walking and cycling. They were as interested in me as a child in church but never take that for granted because wildlife can be very unpredictable. Also, it is a great place to create your own white noise or relaxing sounds. I've seen a few people doing that in the early mornings and evenings. Anywho, enjoy getting and staying healthy!! Remember - A thousand miles begins with the single step.

This trail is BEAUTIFUL. I was able to rent a bike from The Bike Guy (so conveniently located) and ride around 32 miles of this trail! You could ride twice that far if you want to! The trail is in such good shape (with the exception of one spot where there's a detour to avoid construction). I loved the bridges, seeing the little deer on the side of the trail, and enjoying all the nature sounds and smells. This was a favorite adventure of mine.

Always a great ride. Love the Neuse River Greenway! Beautiful weekday ride in February and not crowded at all. Highly recommend! Only thing was Falls Dam area did not have bathroom access, however as we observed Porta-Johns being delivered....

The Neuse River trail is a great place to walk, ride a bike, roller skate, one-wheel, etc. It is a well-maintained paved trail that is wide enough for traffic in both directions and wide enough for passing people going the same direction while staying on the paved trail. There are parts of the path that get flooded after heavy rain storms, but on a dry day, the trees provide nice shade on most of the trail at most times of the day. I would still recommend sunscreen if you are prone to sunburns though and definitely don’t go without bug spray. Since this isn’t a looped trail, be prepared to turn around at a certain point to get back to your starting point but enjoy the beautiful nature scenery...

I’ve gotten to know this greenway extremely well over the past 5-6 years. I’ve trained for 3 marathons and 4 half-marathons here. I’ve run more miles here than I can easily count. I’ve been up and down the trail all the way from the Falls of the Neuse dam to knightdale. It’s an amazing greenway and I feel like we are lucky to have it here in Raleigh. I’ve been all over the various greenways in this city and the Neuse is my favorite. Running alongside the Neuse river gives me a special feeling, like an old friend is accompanying me on my run. If you live in Raleigh you owe it to yourself to visit this greenway and walk a...
