Nice out of the way park. It's tucked away so we'll in fact that we weren't sure we were going to find it when we went. My wife and I started to think that something might be wrong with the GPS directions. lol
But we both decided that we would go ahead and stick with the guided directions from the GPS and see where we ended up, and are we ever glad that we did. The park is a beautiful good size park perfect for the entire family. There's slides and excavator ride on digging tools, there's a circle swing, there's even a pavilion that can be rented out for parties and gatherings, there's restrooms available, there's a baseball / softball field available, as well as plenty of trails. There's more than enough shade so that when you're out enjoying the park, you don't have to worry about getting too much sun, or having severe sunburn if you spend the entire day or all afternoon at the park enjoying all the festivities.
We were there for a birthday party and I have to say that all the kids seemed to have a great time playing together at the park. There were plenty of different things for the kids to do and play on, and they were close enough for the parents to be able to keep their eyes on their kids while they're playing, especially if you have more than one child that you're responsible for or supervising, because as we all know when there's more than one child, they don't always want to do the same thing or play on the same thing at the playground.
As a parent that can be problematic and irritating when you have multiple kids wanting to go and play on multiple things, and everything is so spread out that you can't really stay in one spot to be able to keep an eye on all the kids at the same time, this is not a problem at this park.
Our kids absolutely loved going to this park, and they've asked so many times if they can go back again, because they can't wait to go back and enjoy themselves even more! Looking forward to getting back there again, and I know our boys are looking forward to going back even more than my...
Read moreThis place is cool! We visited for the playground and my 4yo had a blast! They have a Mary go around swing thing that myself, my husband and our child could all swing on together! It was fun to be a kid along with our kid. They have bathrooms right next to the playground and interestingly a small family cemetery behind the bathrooms. Something I saw for the first time, I didn't even know this was a thing... Pickle ball courts! Cool! There's also a couple of baseball fields but we didn't check them out. We followed the one paved trail that had mushrooms all around! I can't tell you how long the trail is or whether or not it loops around because we took some non paved trails back up. Which reminds me, the paved trail, I felt was kind of steep. Anyway, we'll be back for the...
Read moreThis place is an inclusive place to play pickleball, you'll find such a diversity of play levels, ages, backgrounds, and race/gender. Lots of people have gotten to know each other, but that doesn't mean they are unwelcoming to others.
Play is almost exclusively pick-up. There are signs on the side that show how to maneuver the paddle system and play is almost exclusively doubles and playing to 11 points. Sometimes people may need to be reminded about these rules if they're new out there. It can get packed around 7 on weekdays and most weekends. Hoping the city continues to expand available courts.
When it gets extremely busy, brand new players may want to tell the people playing pickup with them that they're new to the game to allow for folks to...
