Umstead Park Lake — Attraction in Raleigh

Umstead park is a really nice little park close to downtown Raleigh. Quite easy to get to, multiple parking lots and a visitor center with clean bathrooms.

It can get muddy if you go near a day it just rained. So bring a towel if you have a dog.

The trail itself is very easy and great for any athletic or non athletic individual

Nice lake for a quick fishing stop without venturing out of town. Could use a few more spots to fish from. Also would be nice if there was a little more handicap parking at end where you don’t have to hike down to the lake. I didn’t get any bites, but it wasn’t the best day to fish.
