Ramseur Lake — Attraction in Ramseur

The older man running the place is a jerk. There is simply no other way of putting it. He is consistently rude to me and my children and today, a Monday when they are open after Easter, his first words to me were, "What the hell do you want?" That was only after I pried his attention away from his tablet on which he was watching some documentary on sunken ships.

Ramseur Lake was a great place to bring your family three years ago. The new patron needs to go. He is rude, has foul language, and makes people feel unwelcome. This will be the first year in many I will not purchase an annual launch and instead start taking my family to the Asheboro Lakes. So sad when I'm a resident and have enjoyed our best kept secret for years.

The staff was extremely friendly and pleased that we were there. We took a John Boat out with paddles and spent about 3 hours on the lake and it was quiet and serene. When we came back with the boat and pulled it back to shore, the adorable couple that runs the place asked us about our time on the water and were super friendly, yet again. Nice facilities with outlets and grills, along with a sink in the picnic shelter. A few pontoon boats for rent and we saw one canoe for rent. Lots of fishing docks. There are some swings, two horseshoe pits and an area to put up a volleyball net. There's also several cute birdhouses. Lots of groundhogs have a den down by the dam.
